Also, this not being China, we can't just move residents even if we do 'respect' them, because it just doesn't work like that.

Privately owned houses - how do you force people to move? It doesn't really matter whether the council back us or not, that's a significant problem.

Regardless of whether it's a shit hole or not, it's deeply uncomfortable to read people being talked about like they're static caravans - just move them to that other plot, over there.

Obviously, also the people (and I don't mean anyone in particular on here, I mean everywhere you heard this argument), were they to have a football club at the end of their garden, would be naturally delighted to be 'rehoused' elsewhere because the club wanted more seats.

Have you seen that house in the middle of the central reservation on the M62?  Well think of that when we rebuild the Witton Lane End.  We will have a left side, a right side and a bloke in the middle watching from his elevated bedroom vantage point.

I haven't said move anyone. Villa can start buying houses and building up the area around them and offering the houses when they're built. If Villa build good enough houses there shouldn't be muvh opposition but obviously that's something they need to canvass.

But it's absolutely brilliant news if the plan to regenerate is starting now.

Edit: Witton station is only two stops from town as well, it could be brilliant if done well (I'm thinking of edens prior form in Milwaukee).

Wow that would be amazing. The local residents always will need respecting throughout the process but the area needs help in modernizing and improving.

I totally agree and the houses are not the problem - it is the businesses around there that create the shithole it currently is. Either the car dismantlers, Car washers or food outlets by the Witton arms are the main culprits.

If they could buy out the current house owners (and presumably move them a few streets away to new builds - win win in most cases) then divert the road and build out like the Trinity.
