I notice that VP will host the fewest games of all the venues - 3 group games and a Last 16 game.

If Northern Ireland were to qualify, then one of their group games would be at VP.

However, I think we will have the lowest capacity, so that probably plays a major part in game allocation.

The canary in the mine?

Let's be honest, the Greedy6 rely on tourists to fill their grounds.

And when they've scared the locals away in order to cram in more and more tourists/gloryhunters; and then, the tourists don't show - they're fucked.

Spuds have a big super stadium which is only half used for football, on the premise "build it and they will come".

But only if the price is right. And constantly fucking around with ko dates and times is only going to piss genuine fans off even more.

They have lost the Son supporters from Korea. Also note this is Small Heath’s proposed business models relying on football tourists to Brum !

I'm surprised they haven't delayed the tournament to wait for the Sports Quarter.

They won't be interested in the Euros, they'll get one over the Villa by having the World Cup.

I think I read  (maybe on here ). Villa Park and Wembley will be the only grounds used for World Cup 66, Euros's 96  & the Euro's in 2028.

Different Wembley though.

We’re the last one standing :)

Maybe, but all four stands have been re-built since World Cup 66.

Ah, well there’s a couple of things there.

First, I’m pretty sure someone on here mentioned there was a (short) wall from the lower grounds aquarium still knocking about in the North Stand / Trinity Road corner.

Second, in any case in my book it’s the same ground as long as there is some continuity between its constituent parts. Appreciate this touches on triggers broom or that Greek ship I can’t remember the name of and can’t be arsed to Google.

But in my book since each stand was rebuilt in isolation (or it was only the brush OR handle that were replaced, not both - or that it was only ever small sections of the ship that were renovated and not a full scale rebuild) … it’s the same stadium, broom, or ship respectively.

And with Greek philosophy sorted out, I reckon I’ll move on to the Middle East. Should be a piece of piss.

And Wembley was rebuilt entirely and even had the pitch rotated I believe so we still have a better claim then them. I'm surprised they went with Everton rather then Anfield though unless they didn't need a the capacity being too high for some games. (Or some work is happening their during Euro times).

Anfield’s pitch isn't UEFA compliant.
