The plod control room / live broadcasting suites being removed then?

I watched a BBC segment on the policing for one of our European games. The official observer was full of praise for the control room, he reckoned it was one of the best in the UK.

Genuinely, that looks like the sort of cheap shite Ellis would have put up. It's properly awful.

That square roof bit is awful, but as mentioned prob just provisional mock-ups. Hopefully that awful staircase and plastic roof in the Holte / Trinity corner has gone.

It has. There are more renders on the ‘Villa Park Expansion’ thread on Skyscraper City.

Has anyone got a good picture of what is there at the moment?  Honestly, I don't think it will be that noticeable compared to what is already there once complete.

But yeah, we aint fillng in that corner any time soon.

I'm not sure about that, it looks like the sort of work that'll pay for itself in a year or 2 so I doubt it's an indication of much beyond us wanting to push the capacity as high as we can in the short-term ahead of the euros and then see where things are after that.

Even the portacabin is an improvement on the fire escape stairs.

I don’t think we’ll be spending a fortune on the ground when we can get to 52.5k on the cheap.

There was a bit on The Price of Football pod about a trend in downsizing plans even for clubs with the biggest fan-bases. They reckon Manure will settle for 85/90k rather than the 100k first mooted, and the new San Siro will be around 60/70k.
