Richard Parker, West Midlands Mayor, said: “Huge congratulations to Aston Villa – another of the region’s footballing giants going from strength to strength. This is a massive step towards making Villa Park a world-class stadium and a top venue for the 2028 Euros. And the good news doesn't stop there. We've got funding to upgrade Witton Station and we're working closely with the club and our rail partners to make sure fans get the great train arrival they deserve.”
Does he think there are other footballing giants in the WM? - not much of a mayor if he's so deluded.

Sure I read that the deadline was a year in advance of the tournament. We would be selling tickets for seats that don't yet exist.
That's what the article says, completed second half of 27 ready for the tournament in the summer of 28

Yeah but I thought it had to be a full year in advance, ie by summer 2027. Hopefully not.
June, July, 2027....basically a full year

He's a Bristol City fan so 5 of the clubs are bigger than his. Villa are monumental. Wolves massive. Albion, Blues and Cov bigger.

As a Labour voter I cannot think of a more non entity representative in such a role ever.

Burnham and his northern possy of mates across the North get lots of coverage. So does Houchen - good and bad. Street had a big(gish) profile for a non politician in a political role.

Parker - total non entity in terms of profile.

Have you considered being script writers for Miranda?

There's a short story by Isaac Asimov I think it is, that postulates that jokes are funny because they come from aliens from another dimension, whereas puns are inherently unfunny because they are invented by humans.
