Is that an extension to the Aston Hotel that backs right on to (ie semi detached to) the Warehouse?

They're going to love having gigs with 5,000 people at them the other side of their walls.

I went to a party there is the final few months before it closed, the management was using it as a contractors hotel/digs and those were extra bedrooms. To be honest I cant ever remember it having any 'former glory' for it to return to.

As a grizzly aside, somebody I knew was murdered in the car park of the Aston Hotel. He was a Villa fan.

Aye, pals of mine know his daughter. One of the fellas who was in the car at the time used to train us at football. Think I read the fella who was convicted  killed himself in jail.

Just been speaking to someone who is a match day groundsman at Citeh. He showed me some video of their pitch going down. Really clever stuff. Same company is growing ours and Liverpool's apparently. We're a bit behind them!

Yeah, it's somewhere in a field in Lincolnshire.

How do they transport the pitches - are they rolled-up like carpets and bunged into the back of a transit van?

No, the entire pitch is cut out in a single piece and then flown underneath a team of drones across the UK and then dropped into the stadium. Watch out for it heading over Sutton Coldfield later.

I thought I saw a picture of it being laid at VP earlier today.

No it's not, don't be silly.

It's carried blade by blade by (a lot of) ants. That's what all the delays on the M42 are about.

Rolled into one tonne sections. Apparently no one is allowed to see the equipment they use to harvest the turf.

From what I heard, it was an unwillingness to pay for them, or at least conflicting views on the payment plan.
