Saw the inside of the new Everton ground yesterday on telly
looks no different from Leicester’s stadium carbon copy of everything else that’s been built,
 absolute shit

Ha! We’re going to be told how wonderful it all is for a few seasons regardless.

Yes agreed,
There’ll be loads of corporate bits and bars restaurants etc to rinse the fans a bit more obviously
All to Get that turnover up so they can compete with the big football franchises same as we’re all trying to do

That’s where we are folks

Even if we built a brand new ground somewhere I’d want four separate stands.

The thought of joining up any of the Villa park stands makes me want to puke.

I have fond (and terrible) memories of sitting in all 4 stands down the Villa and each one definitely has it's own personality and feel attached to them. Would I give up trophies and success rather than sacrifice everything at the altar of revenue? As I get older the answer veers towards maybe/probably . 10 years ago it would have been a hard no.

Always like the look of the Sampdoria / Genoa ground , rebuilt for Italia 90. 4 stands but towers in each corner. Holds 36,000 but we would obviously need larger. Different from your standard soulless bowl design.

I always liked that stadium back in the day, too

I’ve been a long standing supporter on this thread of building a big red brick clock tower mirroring the Birmingham Uni one in one of the corners. This is the Villa and we *know* what time it is.

Old Joe is a heavily mythologised structure for UoB students and alumni. I wouldn't want a replica anywhere near VP.

I think the Everton stadium will be fantastic.  The sides are steep so the crowd will be close to the pitch and by keeping it a modest size they will have high % attendance and an excellent atmosphere.  Add to that the brilliant location and I think as far as clubs building new stadiums go, they have got as much right as they can.  They may regret the limited capacity in time, but for the next few years I think it will be fantastic for them.

It'll be a great atmosphere to play in, with all that squealing for penalties every thirty seconds, and that one 'Everton Everton Everton' chant so close to the pitch.

I don't see Everton as the enemy.  I think they're a decent historic club with decent fans.  Will be hard seeing Grealish play for them, but rather there than Spurs.
