We have 6 projects currently live on Barbour ABI web site to the tune of £131M for both stadium and training ground improvements. Architects are appointed, contractors awarded and in some cases works (like The Warehouse etc) have begun.

Meanwhile the mega sport quarter with 60K seater stadium (Named the Bordsley Park Sports Quarter) down the road has this single listing:

"The scheme has also been referred to as The Wembley of the Midlands. As of 14.01.2025 a planning application has yet to be submitted. Tunnel scheme are compelling and need to be seriously considered".

The only entry was back in April.

Talk is cheap but the mugs i speak to are still falling for it.

Our guys are just quietly going about their business of improving everything they can.

Building a new stadium holding sixty thousand takes a few years,I would estimate approximately 30 years at least in Birmingham City case, although Aston Villa will be charging exorbitant prices in the region of 1 million pounds per ticket for participant in the European Cup in 30 years,I fully expect Birmingham to charge still £20 pound plus kids for a quid, why can't Aston Villa be like them,I can see myself buying a Birmingham season ticket when it's built even though I will be over 100 years of age

Their planing is going in next January apparently.  Unfortunately I think something is going to happen there.  Not sure it will end up being 60k though.  Not before 2031 anyway.  According to the Pontins Rep.

You have to remember that reality doesn't matter to them.  A drawing of a ground that is bigger than Villa Park is as good as it being built and opening in a few weeks.  Just as long as it's bigger than Villa Park.

It's like when we beat them on the odd occasions we play them.  Straight after the game it's "Oh if that shot that went wide at 0-0 would have gone in, we could have won that".  By the end of the week it ends up "We would have definitely won if that shot had gone in at 0-0, so we can take it as a win anyway".

That's horrible, they've ruined the steps.

They did not need that
Agreed. Drove past there this morning and I didn't know they had done it. Someone obviously thinks it looks classy. Personally I think it looks the total opposite. I really wish they would stop messing about with the Holte. Its iconic as it is. Leave it the fuck alone please.
Edit: Having said that ive always thought it would be good if they had "Holte End" along the top of the roof in big fuck off letters. The other stands have the name in big letters on the side so why not the Holte?
