Just reading that English Rugby are considering relocating from Twickenham to a new stadium in Birmingham. Despite the fact that it is almost certainly just leverage to get concessions from the local council, it does raise the question of where they would put it? And if they did build one, would it limit our ability to host big non-football events.

I wonder... Twickenham is used for rugby less than 10 times per year... would we want the hassle of co-sharing?

It's a health and safety risk, the wax from those barbour coats could cause a slips and falls.

Just ordered his memoir.

Would be interesting to know if it sheds any new light on the rebuilding of the club from the late 60s - although you’d assume it was read by the various authors of Villa books covering that period.

I have a copy. There’s a fair bit if Villa politics in it.

I knew Bill pretty well and his son Matt is a big Villa supporter and I’m sure would have followed his father's reading habits!

Maybe they'd like to ground share.....

I'd say that this 100% won't happen.

Having both the England Rugby and Football teams play at Wembley makes far more sense.

The old Twickenham, with it's ridiculously steep stands, was a great venue. The current version is a gloomy concrete monstrosity, prime for demolition

Not to mention the apocalyptic results if our cocaine n' Carling regulars tried to light their own farts. It'd be like a washed-out Glastonbury without the charming fragrance or party atmosphere.

Rupert would love the opportunity to watch the chaps play in B6 with the possibility of bumping into the future king.

From memory it wasn't exactly factually accurate.

Who is of course Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union whilst his Mrs is Patron of the RFU. I think they'd rather bump into her.

Looks great on telly but quite an eyesore up close. Lots of concrete and tunnels. From the outside what looks like a ring of shipping containers at the very top looks quite apocalyptic. All made up for of course by the fact that you can take trays of beer into the stands.

Viewing Twickenham from outside it’s certainly not aesthetically appealing but the view of the pitch from any of the stands is great.

Tens of thousands of Barbour jacket wearing coppers, accountants and aristocrats, with a game of rugby going on in the middle.

Nein danke.

Been to Twickenham for NFL and it was a nightmare to go back from. Far worse than Tottenham or Wembley. Can't they just play Rugby games at Wembley?

They want to host pop concerts to increase revenue, they are only allowed 15 events including Rugby a year.
The locals don’t want it and Richmond Borough Council are not in favour.
At least with the Rugby local shops bars and restaurants get a days takings, Beyoncé isn’t going to have the same impact on local trade.
