Can we split the Villa Park debate from the new trafford park dreaming nonsense?

I don't get why some people around here think Villa will be left behind.  There is no doubt the City of Birmingham and the West Midlands will need a world class stadium in the medium term, and this runs in parallel to the fact that Villa will need to expand in the medium term too. Just because the Club has changed its plans for the short term does not mean that our owners cannot see the bigger picture. I would hope the Club are taking notes on Everton's current experience, along with taking notes on the arguments Man Utd are currently making about their requirements. I'd like to think we are busy behind the scenes, planning and working on putting forward the case for a significant project of our own, be that a Villa Park expansion or a brand new stadium.

Because instead of being at 50,000 by 2026 we will likely still be under 50,000 in 2030. Because the ground hasn't had proper investment since 2000. Because the plans keep being pared back from what we were meant to be getting. Because clubs around us are showing more vision. because we have been told, repeatedly, that we are staying put but also just tinkering around the edges of what we have.

If you think they can u-turn on all of that, fair enough. And if you think they will do the warehouse, landscape behind the north stand, widen the north stand only to knock it all down and dig it all up again in 5 years, agaan, fair enough. But so far it has got quite underwhelming since Purslow left.

And because other lesser teams who do have tangible plans to extend their stadia, and increase their revenues, may be in a position to make better offers to players we want.

Still.reckon new stadium incoming...all these mend and make do activities that we are seeing are no way long term solution, especially when more clubs are showing their hand to new stadiums

How much will this extension to the North cost? £10m? £20m?

Conceptual and speculative or speculative and conceptual?  It's a bit like our neighbours who are turning a rough part of the city into an entertainment village with a new 60K capacity stadium without the concept and speculative illustration.

If it's anywhere near that, it's a bargain.

I think it will be that basic - additional seating, but all the facilities at ground level.

Just seen the design for Manure's new ground.  Looks like the world's biggest circus tent.

It looks ridiculous

EDIT - and just in case 'ridiculous' is currently used to mean 'great', what I mean by 'ridiculous' is 'shit'
The Billy Smarts Blunderdome.

I like it. I mean, not so much the design although it is interesting. More the fact it's not another generic bowl.

The Mancs are claiming that 92,000 jobs will be created: I'd like to see the maths on that calculation.

Unless ive missed something,  i havent seen our owners buy any land so i dont think thats on the cards.

Id be ok leaving villa park if the venue had better transport links and more capacity
