This morning looked like they were building a stage or a unit or something in the corner of Trinity/NS. Loads of builders out and about and it looked dodgy getting a photo but will try later.

You are going to be one of those guys filming on facebook who keeps antagonising businesses saying 'it is a public space' and get arrested  :D

Be interested in what they are doing though

Holy fuck, those videos keep popping up on my YouTube feed (quickly deleted). Citizen journalists, absolute twats usually.

Some of them used to be okay - keeping a permanent record of derelict buildings or reminding security guards of their (lack of) powers. Now they walk round with cameras looking to provoke a reaction.

Will we be able to get tickets in the away end?

I had a quick beer in the marquee. No queues to get in or at the bar. Busy enough, place itself was bland. But if you fancy a beer or food without the hassle inside the ground, it an option...

Are you talking about the new marquees where the fan zone was at the NS/TR?

Didn't read anything about that been planned, sparsely populated tonight

Yeah, the 2 areas by the food and bar were fairly busy. As you say, lack of awareness probably kept numbers down. Hopefully, will be rammed once word gets.around as it does make it easier to have a pint before the match.

With it being an 8 pm kickoff our arrangements were slightly different so we went into the new marquee outside the Trinity. As has been said pretty bland inside, couple of big screens showing previous matches easy to get served food was hitting miss roast beef sandwiches were brilliant, but £7. They limited entry to 250 people, but could easily double that.

Nice bogs though.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this. Got to the ground at 7:20 and didn’t get in until 8:05. Sitting in upper trinity - the queue to get in went all the way back past the players entrance nearly to the existing fanzone.

The new hospitality area at the back of the trinity was a disaster for the everyday fan. When the kick off grew closer they just joined the front of the queue stopping admission for everyone else. Then of course you had the obnoxious dickheads who turn up late who pushed in front. Ended up having a few words but being with the wife and 8 year old lad didn’t want to push things too far!

We try to get in early ish to watch the build up but our lad was a bit upset. I’m fairly pragmatic when it comes to the corperate areas and general expense as revenue does need to go up but the planning and execution was shit to be fair. Dedicated turnstiles and separate queuing would have helped massively I think. Poor show on the whole.

If in the wrong place feel free to move - thanks for letting me vent!

If it is about filling in the corners and expanding backwards, then work wouldn't necessarily be limited to starting in summer 2026 - they could get it underway after this summer's concerts, assuming any development is covered by the planning permission already in place.  It certainly feels like something bigger is happening than just a reclad, and the radio silence approach is just how the club operate under Heck - nothing will be publicised until it's a done deal (although apropos of nothing, from the fanzone on Saturday we did see Heck walk past with someone, and he was pointing directly and gesturing at the gap between the Trinity and North Stands as he was talking).

I'm no expert so I could be wrong but I'm sure I've read somewhere that Planning Permission has an expiry date, but if you have visibly started the work that the planning permission doesn't expire.  So it might be a case of a way for the club to stop the planning permission expiring so if we decide to recommence then we won't have to go through the planning process again.

It does have a date you have to start by, but once its granted, even if it expires, the hard work has been done when you do want to start

This thread is 4 years old today, it was started by Ads as there was a BBC article saying that the intention is to redevelop Villa Park for any potential World Cup 2030 bid.  Naturally it got most of us excited, but sadly 4 years on, we seemed to be as far away as ever from seeing a redevelopment. There was a FAB meeting on 24 February, but if it was raised then, we certainly would of heard something by now.
