Can you give a retelling of the rumours? Villatalk is toxic for some.

I log on to both this site and Villa Talk. They are both great. If you want toxic, hold your nose and log  on to SHA, truly Neanderthal.

Recall those blokes photographed in the Kabbabish Moseley who were rumoured to be the new owners about to buy Villa. Turns out they were just 4 local lads out for a curry.

Would have done a better job, though, as it turns out.

Anyone remember when Doug Ellis wanted to build a hotel at the back of the North Stand around 1987?

I wouldn't be surprised if Heck is plotting to build one a stone's throw from Villa Park, he does seem to be after the tourist revenue, after all.

Bought an eat-until-you-explode Lower Grounds package for our next game? Can't be arsed with the stampede at Witton Station post-match? Stay in the Aston Villa Hotel for your next game, just a short walk from Witton Lane.

Come to think about it, we're playing at Home on Wednesday and then again on Saturday. So make a holiday of it and get five nights for the price of four five and get your ultimate Villa fix, and we'll throw-in charge stadium prices for breakfast, lunch and tea in our themed AVFC Restaurant.

You get the idea. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens

Travelodge Aston sounds most attractive.

'Villa Aston' is the obvious choice.

I think there was an article about it in "Claret & Blue (Just for you)" too.

I remember being at work in our offices down in Surrey and a pile of the latest Glennigan leads being handed to me for my area and coming across this particular lead. I got very excited with my first ITK! Early stages development for an £11-£15 Million hotel in Aston, Outline planning approved, it said. Contact person at AVFC....H D Ellis. It stayed at that stage of development for some time as all future leads showed until it disappeared completely . A development very like the new Blues Metropolis that's no further now than when first talked about.

It was 88/89 just before Hillsborough changed everything with stadiums.

With the Bull Ring store showing that we’re all about increasing turnover regardless of profit & loss, one would imagine that a hotel might be a go-er. Might be an idea for the club to snap up the Majestic and Aston Hotel as well to go along with The Warehouse.

Wasn't the story that there were some fellas photographed at VP who were said to be Saudi princes interested in buying us, turned out it was the family who own the Kababish having the stadium tour? I hope my version is correct as I was telling it to my daughters as we were having our dinner in there last week. They were very amused.

Drove down Witton Lane Lane today and was surprised to see that Stumps looks like it's being knocked down? About a third of it has gone now. I thought the main structure was being kept and revamped?

No, The contractors have taken off the front of the building nearest the NS, you can see the steel skeleton where they have done it, but the rest is an internal refit as far as I know, and saw today.
