Am I right in thinking season ticket holders gain access to early tickets for the concerts, and therefore before the dynamic pricing takes hold?

I hate it (dynamic pricing) but it’s definitely a clever way to add value to the season ticket.

I think so. There was a date for members for KL.

Buy at actual cost and sell at £XXX profit.  Not a bad way to fund the season ticket.

At the same time dynamic pricing/ticketmaster deserve to be in the COTW thread.

I’m not taking any notice of the VP tour guides. When I went on it I was constantly correcting fantasy bullshit. I say constantly - it happened about three times before it dawned on me that I might be spoiling it for people and from then on kept my counsel, even when the tour guide insisted that Sir Thomas Holte made the club promise that his name would always be incorporated into the ground in some way, even though he died a long, long time before the club existed.

When I went we were told that our colours are a variation of Rangers/Hearts colours because McGregor was Rangers and his wife was Hearts. I've quoted that plenty of times but I've never seen it written down anywhere else come to think of it. Same goes for the rampant lion on our badge and our motto being Prepared and Rangers is Ready.

Yes, my mate says he did it for GnR. Bought 4, sold 2 at a profit, kept 2 for himself as *he's a rocker and he likes them.

And even now Hearts play in Maroon (not Claret) and Rangers in Royal Blue (not sky blue) so we can safely say we were originators. And I’ve always thought Rangers crest and motto an inferior copy of ours.

Also, Rangers were only formed in 1872, and were a park side (much like us) until 1876.  McGregor moved from a village in Perthshire to Birmingham in 1870.

Seems unlikely that he supported Glasgow Rangers to me.

On my tour I was told the owners of the Lower Grounds had made it a condition of sale that part of the ground was named after Thomas Holte. We didn't buy it, we leased at first from Flowers Brewery, who most likely couldn't care less about a bloke who'd died 200-odd years earlier.

I didn't get the Hearts/Rangers fable but it's nonsense. Neither club was well-known when McGregor left Scotland and he hadn't seen a match at all at that point.

I did the tour a few weeks ago and the guide we had to get the capacity over 50k for the euros and we would be going up and back so it should get going over the summer.

Sometimes when you read what they say about it all you get the impression they think an omelette can be made without breakings eggs so who knows.

I did say in my comment that the tour guide claimed that our colours were "a variation" of Hearts and Rangers colours. Although after reading some of the replies it does now sound like he was embellishing things just a little.

Someone a few weeks back said they had to abandon the tour because a child was ill. Did they sort out a replacement tour with the club?

Hadn’t really understood which cladding was missing. But had a good look today and it does seem strange it’s equally missing on both sides at the top and the roof truss. Do we think they might remove the goalpost? Not sure if that would need any planning permission.
