with 3500 venue will they be showing the games in there too I wonder ??

They’re bound to have a dodgy fire stick.

I'll be honest, I think it looks great.  I can't wait until it is up and running.  Yes, I want a bigger ground and a competent defence, but I think this is actually a very positive development.

That forelock must tug itself by this stage.

This is a proud Villa tradition stretching well back into the Doug Ellis era, when there would always be some prick phoning up 606 or WM to insert his tongue firmly up Ellis's arse as were scractching around to sign fucking Erik Bakke on loan, "ooh, look at what he's done for us, Mr Aston Villa etc".

I'm not bitter though.

If the noses weren't on about building something huge then this wouldn't be an issue for most of us.

That said, it is like opening a lucky bag and finding sick in it.

I quite like the new Stumps from that video. Looks alright to me, and as someone else wrote there’ll still be loads of room to extend the north stand.

Just wish they’d get on with making the North Stand bigger than it is. I don’t think we need to or should move from Villa Park, but it’s quite clear the stadium needs to hold more people. If it’s a case of getting the infrastructure sorted out first, fair enough.

Hang on I have just watched that video.  3500 for world star rock concerts?  Who are they booking Men At Work?

Some of the biggest artists and bands often like to do a secret gig before going out on tour. That aside, 3500 is a decent venue for most bands. The club won't make a fortune from the promotor hire fee, they'll hope to cash in big on the bar takings. Anybody else see a slight problem with that?

I'd go to the foot of our stairs if we build this AND extend the North Stand.

Not such great news for the Witton Arms/Aston Tavern I'd expect

The Birmingham Academy has a lower capacity. As does the Institute. It’s more than big enough for most touring bands.

Didn’t someone propose lowering the pitch and increasing capacity that way, using the land Down Under, if you will?

Keeping a regular mid-size venue going has been difficult in Birmingham for decades. The 02 duo are fine as it goes but for the older demographic getting Up Town is a pain and a half. Somewhere like this, with reasonable parking and access from the motorway,  might well be a goer.
