I wonder if the new owners of the Royal Mail might sell us the Newtown distribution centre?

I don't mind this Stumps development by the way, and I read it would be ready Christmas 2025 on the app notification article.

In the grand scheme of things, £50m is peanuts and will see us through the next 10 years while we plan and build a new £1bn super stadium... maybe.

I'm even more convinced we are off to a new ground.

I don't see it. They must have spent the guts (when this is done) of £50m making Villa Park better for the corporate types.

Something must be done at VP to increase capacity by 10-15k. The obvious place to do it is NS, so obvious they have plans that have been abandoned. This looks like putting the kybosh on NS expansion plans altogether so I think we are off.

Or I've just won Dusty Bin.

The “gig venue” might actually work. Would be the biggest music venue in Brum outside of the stadiums and arenas (I think). The public transport is great for transporting a few thousand people. It’s just rubbish for 40,000.

Just a shame instead od abandoning the expansion they did it starting next summer

Be interesting to see what attendances will be the next few months as there has been a few more emoty seats in recent games. Genius move by heck upping the prices

For the construction bods amongst us, what sort of cost is that going to be? I know its an existing building but converting rather than building afresh is more expensive on a lot of occassions no?

You won't find anybody here who agrees more strongly with you than I do.

I just think we have to go with the evidence in front of us. Heck has determined that we can copy Chelsea and earn more from our existing 43k stadium by making it more exclusive. I hate it but I think that's basically it.

If we were moving, I don't think they would make such a song and dance about every little bit of lipstick they are putting on it. Let's face it, we aren't dealing with a master strategist here, we are dealing with someone out to earn a quick buck.

I completely agree with this assessment and it sucks. (as the Americans would say)

Reading the above comments (toys and prams come to mind) on the redevelopment on the North Stand space, I believe that as the owners are not doing what many of us want in redeveloping the North Stand they need to sell the club immediately.

On Saturday anyone who is fed up of not having a new North Stand should show their anger at the owners by calling for them to go or jumping up down and having a teenage tantrum.

They are the owners and how they spend their money on our football club, is surely up to them?

They chose to buy our club and up to 18 months ago their plan was to significantly improve Villa Park's capacity and infrastructure.

As an individual who is not a billionaire but is forced to buy products made by billionaires because of the way society has become more, not less, of a monopoly I at the very least hope we can get better facillities and infrastructure out of each billionaire that shows up at Villa. Looks like the latest ones will again pass us on leaving the ground as Ellis left it 25 years ago in 2001.

They are also spending an increasing amount of our money.
