Makes the best of what we have on-site, no problem with this. Completion date is late 2026.

The video from two years ago with the new stand made the best of what we have on site. This is a considerable downgrade on that, it says nothing about capacity

It would be cheaper for Heck to have fans turned upside down at the turnstiles and have  all their money shaken out of them.

Because this is making no difference at all to stadium capacity

Late 2026…?
Blimey, could have a new stadium by then.

Amazing times. The rebranding of a car park.

Spend the money on the actual stadium, bring more fans in, get the income up, spend money on the team. Nothing else matters.

I know some believe there is a grand plan in the background but I think all the evidence of the past year suggests we are back to a corner shop mentality after showing all that promise before Heck came.

They’re turning a current building into a venue and calling the car park a plaza. Exciting stuff.

When I see the word 'plaza' I always think of an American becoming detached from the majority of his head.

Lets hope this is not foreshadowing.

Not saying it's big news (it isn't) and I'd want us to be much more ambitious and have a new stand - which would have been complete by next summer, based on Purslow's original plans - but this is an improvement on what is already there.

Some interesting descriptions though ("historic" North Stand, the have saved warehouse building from being "destroyed" - they don't say what from though.)

Heck will be dining out on this, like he was so proud of the electronic advertising hoardings he installed covering the iconic claret and blue balconies...

Absolutely this, any real change is 'too hard' or 'too expensive' so we are stuck with these 'improvements' that do nothing to address the real concerns of fans.

A lot of clubs have plans to expand capacity so it's quite likely, if we remain as we are, that Villa Park will be among the smaller top flight grounds by 2030 which really is staggering when you look at its history. There is such a serious lack of vision at present-

No problem with the development of Stumps - it looks good and is probably cheaper than the newbuild for the car park Purslow had planned.  Happy enough with the changes to the car park too, the space could be utilised much better than it is now, and made much safer to get through too.

The issue for me is what is Heck being incentivised to achieve?  It's clear from this the North Stand is going nowhere, and his target is to obviously screw every last penny out of what we have whilst fucking up the best chance we have had to grow the club in 30 years.  At a point when we need visionary leadership, we have ended up with Doug's long-lost American cousin.

I've never quite enjoyed walking over the car park to my seat in the Trinity, now I can walk across a Plaza I'll be like a dog with two cocks.

Where is everyone going to park?

I'm even more convinced we are off to a new ground.

I don't see it. They must have spent the guts (when this is done) of £50m making Villa Park better for the corporate types.
