Agreed, it would have already been planned and announced by now.  We have just spent £100 down at B&Q to paint the tunnel black we aren't investing in a new stadium.  Who is left now with a really old ground not renovated in the PL?  Us, Chelsea, Forest, probably others that are not springing to mind instantly.

Yeh I knew it - it is early for me.  Manure likely to have a new stadium though.   Palace, no one cares.  It is the likes of Everton potentially overtaking us on revenue and obviously stadium quality that concerns me.

Don’t necessarily think it’s the biggest problem but it is part of the issue in that if it was just the North that needed replacing and the rest of the ground was fit for another decade or more it made more sense to do the North.  Reality is that if they’d spent 3 years doing the North the Witton will continue to degrade and need replacing shortly after.  Thats why for the last 18 months or so my preference would always be for a new ground
That is the point, the Witton has limitations purely down to space, all of the other stands can be upgraded as required.
The DE stand holds 9500 which is a problem in itself with no opportunity to provide catering or comfort.

It was a good point. I've long been in favour of a new stadium and things like Saturday do nothing to change my mind. I've been past Everton's new stadium twice this summer on the ferry, and it looks absolutely incredible.

100%….ive sat there for 15 years+ and for that entire time its get in, get to seat with world class views but use catering never or toilets maybe 2/3 times a season because everything below seat level is hopelessly insufficient

About to rattle past it in 10 minutes. It looks great, especially the roof the way it catches the light. Proper spaceship stuff.

Oh well.

They'll need a spaceship with an anti-gravity drive to keep them up if they keep going.

Does the Lower Witton have the same or similar narrow concourse as the Upper? I've never sat in the Lower.

Palace are building a new stand ( knocking down the Archibald Leitch main stand) and adding 9000 to their capacity

We all know the current set up isn't going to sustain the club's future. The options are, in order of preference,

1. Redevelop Villa Park (Plan is there but indefinitely postponed)
2. Build a new stadium (no evidence. 'Not in my lifetime', Chris Heck)
3. Cosmetic changes (what they are doing and arguably making it worse as they divert more and more space in the existing structure to GA+ etc thus making the experience for the majority even more unpleasant re toilets etc).

Looking at what other clubs are doing it just is sad that this is the extent of the vision we have had at our great club over the past 8 or 9 months

There is nowhere in the West Midlands with better public transport links than Aston. People who moan about traffic now will have a right laugh if we're in the city centre or in Solihull which struggles to cope with Crufts...

Unless we actually improve public transport, which won't be happening as we're skint, we need to stay.

I think the vast majority of our issues stem from the fact that we took the booking for the Foo Fighters gig on 27 June, meaning that our 'close season' window for redevelopment shrunk dramatically.  That said, I also think Heck has taken on too much, too quickly in his thirst for the corporate coin.  No one wants the smell of wet paint up their hooter whilst they're trying to enjoy their vol au vents.
