This is true but I think the club can grease the wheels by offering a really good incentive package. Why not purchase some land and build them brand new houses thereby not splitting up the community? A ballpark estimate here for around 100 houses would be 10/15 million. In the grand scheme of things that wouldn't be so bad. We have major investors on board with a proven track record so I don't think they have got involved just to add a few extra seats and some corporate hospitality packages.

There's 115 houses just on Holte Road, behind Witton Lane. There are another 300 on Yew Tree and Village Road. Depending on which areas you'd include, it might end up being more like a 1,000 houses. If they had anything like that in mind it would have been much cheaper and easier to look at land that has been suggested a few times, like the old gas holders site.

Inded, and what's more, of those hundreds of houses, you'd need every single one of them to agree to sell up. Same with companies in the industrial units. It's easy to say, wave money at them, but what happens if they say no?

We end up behaving like Liverpool did, which would not be morally acceptable.

We should just build over the top of Aston Reservoir and offer Power League a swap too. Easy! ;-)

It seems to me that the problem we have is that we need to build a new North Stand but can't do so as it would take too much time and lead to a reduced capacity in the meantime.

Has anyone considered just... building it really quickly? Everyone goes on about how great the pyramid builders were but they don't build pyramids anymore, do they?

Stands to reason, then, that there must be a load of highly-skilled, out of work, Egyptian construction workers who could easily knock us up a new stand in a month or two and probably throw in a sphinx, just for a laugh. Surely Nassef could have a word.

Couldn't agree more.  We've missed this sort of absolute common sense.

Also have a word on the 2 year refurb of the warehouse.  Two fcking years for a refit?

I think we're all forgetting about the power of balloons.  There's plenty of room if we go up.

Can you imagine the journey time home?

We'd just need to commission a fleet of hang-gliders.

We should look after local businesses.

Except the ones running the big sheds near our ground.

They call fuck off and move elsewhere.

Not that daft a suggestion

My preference would be to bulldoze Aston Hall (always thought it was a bit of an eyesore), flatten the park and put a new ground there

There's also that big area of sports pitches up by Witton Cemetery

Lakes are no match for the might of Aston Villa. We've built over them before, we can do it again.

Whoa easy, I still haven't given up on coming out of retirement yet and rolling back the years down the power league
