The boxes?  I think so but have no inside knowledge.

They’re changing them to outside I think. But I haven’t got any outside knowledge.

🤣🤣

I’ll believe this when I see it. Has any other Club done this?

Where? I thought all the boxes are still there?

The Witton Lane used to be all glass faced boxes. They were converted 15 years ago.

They can’t do the main works until after the Foo Fighters gig.  But obviously they think they can get the Holte rail seating sorted in time.  I guess they’ll do the boxes etc after

Is that definitely happening?

Yes, to the rail seats below the vomitories (from what I’ve been told). Pretty sure they’re also knocking the Doug boxes out and creating open plan seating (I suspect those sat in the row/s below may end up being evicted.

Going to be busy and controversial time.

Thanks I thought they haven’t been converted before.

It will be interesting to see how they do it.

Chelsea did it, the Shed End.

Boxes are just not the thing anymore which is why you don't see many in new grounds. It's about the behind the scenes luxury and "authentic fan experience" during the game.

Albeit in a fucking armchair.

I get that. It’s the replacing them with seats I can’t visualise.

It definitely hasn’t happened at Villa Park before

Will it increase capacity?

There will still be a 'box' element, it will just be a smaller box with more space given to outdoor seats in front, as per the Trinity.

It won't increase capacity to any significant degree.

It’ll increase corporate/premium capacity, which is the important factor for the club.

On the interview with Gabby - I think Heck said that without the increase in corporate capacity, then season tickets would have increased by more than 5%

I think it's more than that - my guess is that the average box has about 8-10 seats - which are rarely all full and take up a lot of space.

Knock 5 or 6 of these together, in the space you can have 2 maybe 3 rows of seats, so from 40 seats, to 60 or 70 seats - all of which you can sell at a premium.

I think this is what they do at West Ham too.
