It’s a dreadful statement. An apology wouldn’t have fixed the problem but it would have diffused some of the anger. While I’ve said Heck doesn’t deserve criticism for everything, where he has generally failed is communication. He’s done a lot of good things, but at the regular fan level, on issues that really matter to us it’s been incredibly poor.

What are these good things Toronto? Not being facetious, I'm generally intrigued.

Adidas deal yes - But as I mentioned on the Heck thread, pretty much anyone could have sold an up and coming Aston Villa side to a forward thinking sportswear manufacturer, part owned by the same bloke who owns the club. I literally cannot point at anything else.

Correct. Maybe the new shop, at a push, but surely a better improved and bigger stadium was more important to address.

I went up to VP to get my shirt, the morning of the West Ham game.... Some painters were freshening up the railings outside Trinity Road near where last season's fan zone thing was.

1) Why the fuck are they waiting till Matchday 1 to do this work when they've had all summer?
2) This shows exactly how Heck thinks - To the outside world, they see a shiny freshly painted Villa Park,  whilst the peasants inside, can wade in their own piss.

Sorry seems to be the hardest word. Wankers.

Even Jermaine Jenas has said sorry.

For being Jermaine Jenas, hopefully.

There's a lot wrong obviously and a lot to put right by the sound of it but doing some painting on a non match day is hardly worth moaning about.

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time,
Till the gate opens and I'm out this line,
There's not a seat now where I thought I am,
Oh, no, no, no - I'm a worthless fan.
...so true lol

Unfortunately the guy in charge is a Tiny Chancer...

And he didn’t make that decision on his own. We all want a bigger stadium. But there was clearly a joint effort to make the decision not to do that right now. That would have included the members of the board including Nas and Wes. And a big part would have been to do with the commitments on infrastructure changes needed in the surrounding area which aren’t his or the clubs decisions. We have the biggest shirt sponsorship deal, the kit deal which isn’t just a big standard agreement and other commercial agreements better than in the past. As I said, lots that he’s not done well, but things he has or has been instrumental in.

There is no doubt though this is a PR disaster. Something he needs to own and fix. Very quickly.

I just hope they can sort these problems out by the time we play Everton.

It's 3 weeks away, no excuse for them not to.

Can you imagine if we don't? Not being able to get a beer and sitting in a stream of their own piss could finish a lot of these Toffeemen off.

They’ve had 3 years for a lot of the problems so can’t see any issue there :-)

You know how it is with projects, sometimes you need a deadline and a bollocking from the boss to get it done. :)

Goodbye Chris Heck it seems to me that you lived your career like a candle in the wind.  Never caring what others thought.

Just popped down this lunchtime to see the new shop for the first time - bloody hell it's like the HS2 construction site down at VP!

Initial observations -

Nice of the tango man to admonish me for driving in the wrong way into the car park behind the North Stand and then suggesting I park in the Holte Car Park and walk all the way down Witton Lane (no thanks mate I'll just park over the road instead) - they do like to try and make it difficult for us to spend our hard-earned with them don't they?

BTW is the shop notably any bigger or better?

Also, our warm up shirt - £60 for a basic claret and navy patterned polyester T-shirt with an Adidas logo and club crest?!!!

It's great we're going great guns on the pitch and have the genius of Unai and Monchi but I can't help but feel that everything else off pitch is a case of "The Emperors New Clothes".

If AVFC had been doing all this stuff at this time of the season, under Ellis, he would have got dogs abuse back in the day.
