Wasn’t the original Lower North just seating mounted on the original terrace of the Witton End?

I think so. It was great fun in that lower tier when it was terracing.

“We are the Witton, Witton warriors”.

It was named after colony losing PM Lord North.

Although the continent is still named North America in his honour.

From the age of 6 my Dad took me to Villa Park with my Grandad and I have no idea why but it was always in the Witton.  I never questioned why we didn’t go to the Holte as I was happy in the Witton even when I can recall my dad and I cowering on the back bank as bricks were being thrown around us.  When the North Stand was built naturally we took up a season ticket and to be honest the view we had was phenomenal.  Whatever they do to the North Stand I hope it ends up with similar memories …..
