I'm a North Stand season ticket holder but this is very good from the club tbf

The temporary closure of the North Stand will require the relocation of affected season ticket holders for the 2026/27 season. The Club recognises the impact this will have on supporters, and will offer those affected the opportunity to renew their ticket in an alternative area of Villa Park at the same price level. Affected supporters will also get priority access to return to the redeveloped North Stand for the 2027/28 season. Further information will be shared directly with impacted supporters in due course.

Seems to me it was more complicated than they expected. Not sure why they haven’t given themselves the option of opening North Stand lower mid way through the season like the did with the Holte.

Now begs the question should we just have stuck with Purslow’s plan.

Also slightly cynical they have announced this two days after the fans’ forum.

You kind of get the argument if this cut and shut job was to ensure at least part of the stand was viable and generating revenue during the expansion phase.

Will the away end capacity be reduced to allow more tickets for home fans during this period?

Premier League regulations stipulate that we have to provide a minimum of 3,000 tickets to every visiting team. The only exception to this is if the capacity of the stadium is less than 30,000. As this will not be the case during the works, we have to continue to provide visiting teams with the same number of tickets as they currently receive.

On the tour i went on at christmas the guide said new changing rooms were going to be built underneath the existing ones. Not seen any planning applications for this though.

Well that answers that. There was me thinking back to when Man Utd gave everyone 600 tickets when the capacity was reduced to about 35,000 many years ago.

I might have missed something but does this mean a total demolition of the NS? If they're still going to keep the main upper core of the stand and build around it that would seem pointless now. Just go the whole hog and build a brand new one.

I think thats what we all would have preferred, But its not the case sadly.

They're taking the roof off but keeping the main structure.

It's the old adage of taking a step back to take 2 forward - it's just going to be difficult to get tickets for the likes of my mate who buys match by match depending on ko day and time.
