How did the Trinity rebuild timeline go? I honestly can't recall. I remember Holte being closed for about 5 months (summer+start of 94/95) and lower opening a couple of months before upper?

I suspect the ECL tickets will be pretty eye wateringly expensive with 6000 fewer on offer.

I wonder if qualification expedited the decision.

Can’t we cut the number of away fans?

Given the geopolitical outlook at present getting any building project finished sooner than planned is likey to save shitloads with the ever increasing rise in material costs.

As a non season ticket holder this is pretty disappointing. Any Champions League campaign has the potential to be our last for a while especially if we were to lose Emery and this means it will be nearly impossible to get tickets next season.

We get Real Madrid at home and only 32k Villa fans can attend?

If they're going down that route, they should go for a larger capacity

Exactly this.  No brainer.

Won’t thatentail a redisgn and resubmission of the the plans so slowing down the process and therefore losing the benefit gained on time?

The reasoning of keeping fans in the stand during construction obviously makes a lot of sense but what if that proves impossible either way? Justin's video tonight mentioned about the works being delayed to summer or some such. If it's a case of these works can't happen with fans then this is going to look like a mistake. Could be nothing but that bit stood out a bit

I'm saying nothing!

They're doing the same upgrade & expansion & not a rebuild. As I understood it a complete rebuild meant the stand was closed for 2 seasons.

I suspect the key things from the clubs perspective is a significant development cost saving by completing the stand expansion in one year rather than two. The loss in revenues from tickets will be offset by probable Champions League money & I'm sure the PL & UEFA would make allowance for rebuilding. The income from the upgrade will be available a year earlier, well in advance of the Euros.

I'm sure the club have done their sums & that this is the best financial decision, if not the best for supporters in the short term.

We have 40,000 members, but not all of them are match-going or even live near Birmingham.

Maybe 10,000 to 15,000 atttend regular matches at Villa Park, say 10 matches per season.

I guess they want to make sure it’s ready for the Euros.
