I think this will be a proper tough game, they have suffered more than most by second season syndrome (hopefully dirty Leeds follow their lead lol) but they are still game if lacking on the attacking quality.  Feel for them a little, losing Henderson & then Ramsdale only just now starting to look the part & getting very few games out of the 3 excellent centre backs who were immense last season is unfortunate-the bollock they dropped was going in so heavily on Brewster when he needed to either get 20 mins here & there at Liverpool or spend the year in championship developing.

Would expect Barkley back in for this one & maybe Sanson starting too....hopefully doing well to give mgr big headaches for Sat night.

If any doubt over Martinez then play Heaton...likewise if Cash isn’t 100% stick with Elmo & even look to give Kessler 20 mins if possible.

Presumably Jack isn’t going to play?

Would still a some point like to see half hour of Davis up top & Watkins go wide

I only want to ever see Davis if we are 4 up. Not if we need a goal.

They are totally lacking in quality and look a Championship side but we shouldn’t be complacent and start resting players here and there. I don’t see this as a good place to start Sanson and would start the same team as against Leeds. Villa win 3-0 but it’ll take hard work from start to finish  don’t care who scores

Be a tough game - this is the type of game that we usually lose

I wouldn't mind if we never saw him again to be honest. Not good enough.

it will be tough as they do not stop working and have nothing to lose ,  but we should have enough quality to beat them

Whilst I agree that he’ll never score enough goals to be a regular Prem Lg striker he does have attributes in short bursts in terms of holding the ball up and bringing team mates into the game - my original point was more about occasionally getting Ollie out wide for half hour, we know he can play that role & in terms of mixing it up & giving opponent something to think about.

I reckon we'll absolutely batter these mugs, 4-0. They looked gone last night, their heart isn't in it any more, can see them getting some humpings between now and the end of the season.

And I for one won't be shedding my snowflake, leftie tears for Chris.

Genuine question, what is this in reference to?

Did Wilder have a go at lefties and snowflakes?

Yes preferably. He’s not even proven himself to be Championship quality.

I like him again now:

@villareport
Chris Wilder: “Brilliant club, fabulous supporters. I went to watch them against Derby, was late and got caught up entering with Villa fans. I think they are a brilliant club, they are huge and I think only people in football realise how big they are.” [
@SufcLive
] #avfc

Wilder: “Delighted for Dean and Jack for them to be in the Premier League with their home town club. I hope Jack Grealish doesn't play (tomorrow), have another day off Jack and return at the weekend because I think he is the best player in England.” #avfc

Way too confident.  Never a good sign.

Be professional Villa.  We are not at home to Mr Fuckup.

We’re away.

The quote I heard was "I don't listen to lefties and do gooders" It that's true I'm diametrically opposed to his political views. However I think politics should be kept out of football and I've always thought he sounds a decent bloke. He also speaks very highly of our beloved club so I'll let him off this time.
