Get in, play our way score first. Close game out and get out of there with no injuries or bookings.

Need full team against a decent soton side

Another professional 2-0 please

Furthest North I’ve been for football is Celtic for a pre-season match v Fulham; Newcastle for a league match with Aussie mates against fuck knows who it was - might’ve been Everton (?) and OT for the Liverpool semi-final and weirdly the game between Utd and Coventry when David Busst had that appalling injury. London’s been my main place for Villa away matches.

Ben Mee gets an own goal and gives us two penalties.

Eh?  They are shite, I'm hoping that we batter them, but will settle for another workmanlike 2-0.

And suffers a particularly painful injury (self inflicted) that keeps him out off the game for 14 months.

I do worry about Jack in this game - still one yellow away from a ban, correct?  They kicked him all over Villa Park the other week, I'm sure they will try again and it's down to him not to react.  Barkley needs to have a big game, physical lad he can mix it up with them.

The ref for the game is quite card happy as well.

Dyche talking about how our ‘VAR’ goal kept us up in his presser.
No mention of his players maiming ours.

Hope we stuff the fuckers.

Soton is to Southampton as Brum is to Birmingham.

Is my imagination or did The Argus used to list them as Soton back in the day?

...
Is he referring to the goal-line technology failure? -  if he's going to have a snide dig, at least get the fucking facts right!

He's right though isn't he? I mean a similar point has been made by other pundits that the no goal gave us the point to survive.

I think that we are all aware that had the 'goal' been rightly given and we'd gone 1-0 down that the ref had been given unique dispensation to end the game at that point.

It's tough for us that the right to come back having gone a goal down which is habitual in football was going to be denied us but there you go.

The game would have been lost and so we were handed survival by the Premier League.

An absolute disgrace as they say.

It's not linear though. How do we not know that if the goal hadn't stood, that it wouldn't have led to a greater effort on our part to get an equalizer and maybe even gone onto win it. It's pretty small minded to see things in such simple terms.
