It would be great to see someone new winning a men's grand slam. The only time one of the big three hasn't won one in the last five years (post Murray and Wawrinka) is when two weren't competing and the other got kicked out. It does beg the question of whether those three are too good or the newbies aren't good enough. Probably a bit of both.

Great effort from Tsitsipas, but when it comes to best of 5 sets Djokovic has once again proved too good. He's now on 19 majors, just 1 behind Federer and Nadal. 2021 Grand Slam is on.

Thought there might actually be a non-boring male Grand Slam winner, should have known better. Still, at least it was El Grunty Arse Picker, I suppose.

Nadal has pulled out of Wimbledon and the Olympics, says he needs to recuperate after a long clay court season.

Any news on if Osaka will be at the Olympics? Be a shame if not, considering it's in Tokyo.

19 year old Englishman Jack Draper is drawn to play Djokovic, first game on centre court. Andy Murray plays his first match at Wimbledon for 4 years, he's got 28th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Konta misses out on her chance to play two sets at Wimbledon due to having to self isolate.

Very good question.

It's all a matter of opinion, but it's clear that Federer/Nadal/Djokovic in some order make up 3 of the best 5 male players of the open era, if not the top 3. However, Federer's dominance inspired Nadal, and Federer/Nadal's rivalry inspired Djokovic, and to a lesser extent Wawrinka and Murray.

The men's game has absolutely gone stale, in my opinion. Previous greats retired at 30-32 in most cases. Not because they were no longer competitive but because after achieving so much, younger players were simply performing at a higher level at the business end of the slams, whether due to developments in the sport or in strength and conditioning.

These three are all-time greats, yes, but at 39, 35 and 33 (I think?) biological reality alone suggests there should be younger players capable of beating them on a regular basis, and certainly over 5 sets at the slams.

Great players will always be capable of great things, but the fact that they are still so dominant means that what we're witnessing is not just prolonged greatness, but stagnation. All in my humble opinion.

How many Grand Slams would Murray have won if he'd been playing in the eighties? Would have to be at least double figures.

In any other era, to be fair. I'm not a fan of him as a player, but he and Wawrinka could easily have 8-10 each in any other era, as well as 5+ for Roddick and Tsonga, probably.

I doubt Federer will win another slam, he's 40 in a few weeks time, he had 2 operations on his knee last year and was out of the game for over a year. He had to pull out of the French Open a couple of weeks ago, having reached the 4th round due to knee problems once again.

Nadal has pulled out of Wimbledon due to the fact, his body has not fully recovered from nearly 2 weeks at the French Open, so there is clearly a doubt, whether he will be at the top much longer.

On the other hand at 34 years of age, Djokovic is playing better than ever, having won both the slams this year. It every much looks like he will end his career, as GOAT having won the most slams.

Listening to the noise of the 2 ladies on court 1 is giving me a headache - it is so loud, the crowd should be issued with ear defenders.

I hope I am never in the same hotel as them when they are having a romantic evening with their partners

You would probably hear them on street outside as you were passing by
