Currently 8th and possibly a slot in the Ironman World Championship in 2022. Need to go to award ceremony later. Fingers crossed.

Did the Stafford Half today. 1:53:04 which is slow compared to last time 18 months ago. It was quite hot and sunny this morning but perhaps age is catching up with me! Not sure a week off work has been the ideal preparation either, weíve done a load of walking (and eating chips and ice cream.)

Knee knack nearly sorted, achilles tendon (other leg) says hello. So I seem to have gone from not being able to run downhill to not being able to run uphill! Assumed it was because I was trying to bed in different orthotics/shoes combo.

Tried to get rid of the achilles pain by running less frequently and riding my bike more frequently to stay fit, but it got worse. Have since tried not riding my bike at all and only running on the flat with an old compression sock which seems to be working better (it only hurts on the road bike on very steep uphills, but that might be what was doing the damage or even what actually caused it in the first place).
