Ian Wright on MOTD2; "If Villa were walking down the road, they'd be John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever"

How nice is that to turn over and see Shearer gushing all over us.

What a weekend. It doesn’t get much better than this , especially as our kid is a Gooner.

He always does to be fair. Then again he gave the Holte End a wave even when he was managing a relegation of The Toon. Think he genuinely likes us.

Reminds me of a commentary piece Arsenal v Newcastle once. The commentator said "As Shearer turned around Seaman was all over his face".

He said that his uncle Baz and his Grandad won't be happy with him as they are Arsenal fans. I reckon they will be delighted for their boy.

Just seen the highlights on MOTD 2.  Thankfully didn't matter in the end, but from the one cursory replay of the 'non-goal' it showed from behind McGinn, it didn't really look like Barkley was in Leno's eyeline.  Looked like he had a decent sight of it.

One tiny criticism - it’s 3-0 with a few minutes to go - give the likes of Conor a few mins. The squad players need to feel involved. I know AEG came on, but I would have used the other two sub slots.

As I say it’s a tiny criticism in what is a fantastic effort from all, but just think it was the right opportunity.
Agree with thus. Being 3 up before 80 minutes ideal time to ease the work of jack, Luiz etc and give some minutes to Davis / Hourihane

Goal should have stood anyway as no way was Leno stopping that shot.

Whilst watching live I thought Arsenal looked very poor - but watching highlights back I think I underestimated hoe well we were playing.  We played some really good stuff and the goals were all very high quality build ups and finishes.  A great way to bounce back from two defeats.  Well done Dean and the lads.

Trump gets battered yesterday, Villa batter Arsenal tonight. I don’t want this weekend to stop it’s just great. We played our best performance in a long long time, every one of them played their part. Jack was immense and the link up with Ross tonight is going to get better.

And I’m not working next week, so an extra couple of drinks tonight!

It really was a complete team performance, really trying hard not to get carried away.

We've got an "attractive" run of games coming up:

Brighton H 22 Nov
WHU A 30 Nov
Newcastle H 5 Dec
Wolves A 12 Dec
Burnley H 15 Dec
WBA A 19 Dec
Palace H 26 Dec

We really should be looking to put a good run together against that lot.

21 points available.
Wonder how many we'll end up with?

That was amazing.  In a funny way I almost preferred that to the Liverpool humping.

I know what you mean. For me it's great to stick two fingers up to all those who were saying it was bubble burst for us after the last two games. We're a bloody good side this season and seem to have a perfect balance between defence and attack. Our only major worry is any injuries. If we can keep everyone fit we could have a really good season.
