So much to admire about that TEAM performance. I'll just mention players who have been criticised/under pressure (Matty Cash, Targett, Trez); all performed admirably. I love how we don't try to shut up shop and keep going forward. This against the Premier League's erstwhile "best defence".
Some of the interplay (eg the first goal) is a delight to watch.
So it's 15 points from 7 games...at this rate we'll finish with 81!

I did post in the week that I thought we had a good chance of getting something out of this match but, not expecting the fantastic performance all the lads put in. Unlike previous seasons, I don’t fear any team before a match. Such an unusual experience given the last few years. Long may it go on.

Such an offensive surging force.Reminds me of '77

Cheers, was going to ask if this reminds people of 76/77 i.e. a side finding its feet with some great attacking performances alongside some inconsistent results.

We seem to have addressed the away issues of that season.

Arsenal Fan TV is hilarious. Some classic comedy of some geezers going beserk as each goal goes in. Nice to see Villa upsetting other fans in the top flight  these days.

Great team performance.

But Grealish is just such a wonderfully talented footballer. Head & shoulders above everyone.

It won't work every week but after 10 years in the wilderness, we're heading in the right direction.

Credit to Targett who has looked much better recently.

Agree with this. I have crucified him in the past, but he has been quite decent of late.

I'd still like to see better competition in that position - more athleticism and pace.

But Targett has looked fitter recently. He seems the sort who needs to stay on top of that. When he does, the natural ability he has on the ball comes out.

I’ve watched a few minutes and it’s absolutely joyous viewing.

So many great partnerships forging through the team.
Trez working his socks off to help Cash – who looked so much better after the last two.
McGinn sitting deeper to allow Barkley to push on.
Konsa and Mings not afraid to step out of defence with the ball, and Luiz or McGinn dropping in to fill the gap.
Targett and Grealish doing what they do best down the left.
Watkins making the ball stick and bringing others into play.

What I'd have given to have spent the afternoon drinking in the Faltering Fullback, before ambling over to the away end tonight.

Some great stats on BBC too:

Aston Villa have won each of their first three away league games in a season for the first time in their history.
This was Arsenal's worst home league defeat since December 2019 versus Manchester City (also 3-0).
Only Chelsea (five) have won more away league games than Aston Villa (four) at the Emirates Stadium.
Aston Villa are the third side in Premier League history to win each of their first three away games in a season without conceding a goal, after Chelsea in 2005-06 and Manchester City in 2015-16.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed to take a single shot today - it is the first time he's played the full 90 minutes in a home Premier League match for Arsenal without attempting a shot.
Ollie Watkins has scored six goals in seven games for Aston Villa in the Premier League this season - only Dean Saunders (seven) and Dion Dublin (nine) have ever netted more in their first seven appearances for Villa in the competition.
Aged 19 years and 64 days, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka became the fourth-youngest player to score an own goal in the Premier League, and youngest since Southampton's Martin Cranie in May 2004 (17 years, 218 days versus Chelsea).
Aston Villa's Jack Grealish has been directly involved in nine league goals this season (four goals and five assists) - only Spurs pair Harry Kane (15) and Son Heung-min (10) have been involved in more Premier League goals.
