I think Traoré gets done over the weekend and gets a spot on the bench. Trez deserves to start in that spot.

I think players have to be registered before midday on a Friday don’t they? Or has that changed?

I don’t think it will be easy for us but I fancy a 1-0 win for Villa. Watkins with the winner.

In the interview after he signed he said he hopes to be involved on Monday

---------------Martinez
Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett
--------Luiz, Hourihane
Trez , McGinn, Grealish
--------------Watkins

Presume our three new signings will start? Confident enough, it's a new season and blind optimism takes hold. 2-1 Villa

This team, with Traore starting on the bench I think.
2-0, with more blind pre season optimism

Ah, fair enough, got that wrong then. Or perhaps the registration required was completed by then. Good news either way.

It appears that we got him registered by the 12pm deadline on Friday. The question will be match fitness, familiarity etc. I think he will start on the bench.

I think we'll start:

Martinez

Cash Konsa Mings Targett
McGinn Luiz Hourihane
Trez Watkins Grealish

Traore to come on later I expect.  Still need a new central midfielder I feel.

I hope Martinez starts a little more centrally than that Risso!

I think that side is bang on the money though.  Another couple of new signings to come, hopefully.

0-0. Sheffield are more than a decent team with a strong defence. I have a feeling we'll cancel each other out.

I’d like 4 points at minimum from these first two games. Sheff U will be the toughest so a point isn’t bad. We must beat Fulham

Our boys must be just dying to get this started. I think we will come out strong and win the game. The confidence in the manner we stayed up is worth 10 goals that we won’t concede this time around. Add to that I expect us to be much better in the final third could see a 15/16 goal swing. That should be solid enough for a mid table finish.

I can't call this at all. I'd be happy with a draw and getting 90 minutes of premiership football under our belts as I think Sheffield United will be slightly ahead of us on that score.

1-1

The extra game will be an advantage, do well to get a point.
