I wouldn’t change him for any keeper in world football. He’s bloody brilliant.

Totally agree with you Paul.

he's the best all round GK since I started going down to VP in 1994. Bosnich was great, but his kicking was toss. Friedel was also decent - but wasn't commanding enough. Martinez is world class.

There may be a better shotstopper, or a better ball player, but none have the lot at the level he has.

He's the best pound-for-pound, like a goalkeeping Floyd Mayweather.

Due to being eligible, I wonder if Gareth would ask him to play for England.

The photo of his save from Dan Burn's header is stunning.

I just messaged my Arsenal mate about their decision to sell him to us. He was equivocal, which I'm interpreting as denial. He's a wonderful player.

I don't think there is, but was trying to underline his all round brilliance.

Cheeky comment from Garth Crooks on the bbc website, team of the week. Regarding Martinez, he writes...
The Argentine is looking every bit a top-four keeper and if he can't achieve it with Villa I suggest he does it with someone else.”

Interesting topic though... how many top four players we have: I’d say 2/3 in Martinez, Jack and maybe Konsa. Expand it to top six, and I think Mings might make it. Top 8 -10team, most of the rest, which is why we are where we are. So our next goal should be to add a couple of really top quality players to push on and become a top six club.

Crooks really is a twat.
Aubemeyang and Kane look every bit top four players, if they can't achieve it with the teams they are in who are below Villa has he suggested they do it somewhere else ?

He kind of has with Kane, not in a "he should leave" type of way. He's said that he will leave if Tottenham don't win anything.

He touts players to leave every other week. Last season every time Wolves won a game he was suggesting Jimenez for Man United.

He really is just a Twat.

Garth Crooks is just a cock.

Every player has a price, we don’t need to sell, we don’t want to sell.

The going rate for a top four keeper is £80m+.
