Marseille 1993.

Sorry.

Doesn't count. They bought it. File alongside Lance Armstrong's Tour de France wins.

Agreed, but wasn't stripped as it should've been unfortunately.

Aston Villa getting a lot of abuse from French people on Twitter over Emi mocking Mpabbé. Shit club, false club, etc. These people know nothing of our heritage.

Not sure on what basis it's our fault.
People love to shit talk and Twitter is perfect for that - most of it is toxic.

Oh yeah, of course, but he wasn't even representing us at the time. They should focus on Emi or Argentina, not us.
They won't though. They see one playing for PSG in the CL and the other playing for 12th placed Villa who haven't been in Europe in a decade and the lazy comparisons start.

Some are saying Mbappé ridiculed south american football before the tournament. Maybe this is Emi's motivation. Or was it a "scored a hat-trick in the final and still lost"-thing?

There may have been a few indiscretions off the field but given they pipped Rangers by a point to get to the final I can live with that.

Not sure if you picked it up but the stadium announcer said “Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa” when he walked up to pick his golden glove, so that I suppose riled them. If so then I love it even more.

Martínez has lost respect yet again with his classless  Kylian Mbappé doll at the victory parade.
Also, when Mbappé says South American football isn't as advanced as European football, I don't think EM knows what he's talking about because he left South America to play in Europe. To advance his career at a young age. And where was Martínez at 18-23 turning 24 in his career yet he has audacity to mock Mbappé

They appear to have misinterpreted Mbappé comments, and Martínez
should be humble enough to respect Europe and the career it has provided him, as well as admitting the leagues in several europe nations are far more advanced than what they have in Argentina. Emi
should have far more respect for Kylian Mbappé

Haha, so we were mentioned right before he started shagging the hand?

Making himself popular (or unpopular in France) by holding Mbappe as a baby during the parade.

Does seem an odd choice considering he did score a hat-trick.
Emi needs to take a close look at himself and the person he has become.
It's likely had a significant impact on him, becoming a number one at a Premier League club here at Villa and then moving on to the National team.
His demeanour appears to have shifted to when he first cane to Villa I observed his gratitude and how he was a delightful individual in his interviews, and now he appears to be far less humble than before and agressive with it. Winning the World Cup, as well as hanging out with the Argentinian squad, would have boosted his ego. He's learnt and developed his win at all costs attitude which has seen him basically be like a Bruno Fernandes/Neymar/Richarlison of the goalkeeping world with his antics
Emi, you're better than this.
Be humble again.

A French Band changes their name. The sadness in their eyes.

Or they don’t and go on to be antagonistically irrelevant.

I don't know why Mbappe's getting stick. Have I missed something?

Me neither.

Because he’s the best player on the planet. Jealousy on full display

100% agree. He’s looking a bit of a twat right now to be honest
