Well yes, but the difference is there’s a good bank of evidence to show he’s not a “Heskey”. Now it might be he’s in terminal decline, or it might be he’s out of form. I’m reasonably certain it’s the latter and he’ll come good. I’m sure everyone, with one exception, hopes that is the case.

I think he's just been injured and is off it a bit. But he's been contributing a lot (if not a lot of goals) to our recent great run.

Smirker has got to be the biggest bore we've had on years for years.

Nah, Smirker's alright, and also our best songwriter.

Nah, Smirker's alright, and also our best songwriter.

Yes, I only find Smirker a bit tiresome on this one particular subject.

I genuinely always liked Smirker outside this thread, where something seems to affect him disturbingly.

Yep agreed, it’s one very weird and tiresome anomaly.

I think there's a worrying disregard for the unseen work Smirker does on other threads that gets him in the position to piss you all off on this one.

But on this thread he hasn't done a good post in 18 months.

I guess that's true if you're only judging lols in isolation. Anyone without an agenda would see that Smirker provides a crucial counterbalance to the guideropes of this marquee we call red hot soccer chat.

'Counterbalance', lol. The excuses you hypocrites make for this poster are staggering.

Ok, Smirker won't win you he game against Withington Red, but who's always there, moaning that other posters are better than him and then sulking until they leave? Smirker.

Only because he won't let us sign any other posters for that role.

I like his emoji-use, especially the  8)
In a forum of grumpy middle-aged pedants who are emotionally stunted, he's a real tonic. Just a shame about the Watkins diatribes.
