I'm assuming the Rogers air shot had a slight touch which took the assist away from Ollie's cross.

Hard to tell if Rogers does get any kind of touch.

Well either way, it’s Watkins play that makes it and that’s why he’s such a good forward all round and critical to us.

Well BBC is evidently wrong. In any case, his finish was top class.

One of those that an official assist is from the last person on your team who touched it IF it doesn't touch an opposition player. And they all think it brushed off Rogers. Some FF leagues will score for the last home player to touch it even if it is a saved shot, off the bar or tackled by a defender to the finisher, or even if causing an OG.

People are so desperate to bump his numbers up they're claiming assists that aren't his? 😂

Although when you were trying to rubbish his assist numbers, you stated most of them shouldn't have been given as the player beforehand did all the work........

No I didn't I said that assist stats don't paint a full picture.

Mad how people have resorted to lying in the Smirker vs Watkins debate.

First saying assists don't count and now this   ;D

better by Ollie today - we played longer more often than usual and it suited his game

Yep, he looked a more confident Ollie and took his goal really well. Probably should have set up a 4th goal but much more like it.

I thought he faded in the second half, stopped making the runs.

Much better today the goal obviously pushed his buttons.
Kept going for 90 minutes and obviously as the second half progressed the dynamics of what we needed to do to win the game changed and so did the service.

Back to being something like the player we know, especially after the goal.

That’s kind of focussing on the negative isn’t it?

It took him until the 6th game of the season to score his first league goal two years ago (admittedly a hat trick Vs Brighton) and he didn't end up doing too bad then.

You could see the pep return to his step after he scored.

Nice instinctive finish, he’s much better when he doesn’t have too much time to think about it.

Indeed, as is the case with a host of players you can tell it’s a confidence issue.

1 goal and 1 assist in his last 1 games.
