Bristol City and West Ham both losing. Nice of that lot down the road to do us a favour.

Villa losing 1-0, to a goal that would never have been given in the Prem. Shot saved, forward lunges in with the keeper, ball squirms in.

I thought it was a legitimate goal. Keeper should have held it or pushed it behind.

Would certainly have been given at any other level below the men's Prem.

I have never seen anyone who is worse at crossing than our number four. Unfortunately our gameplan seems to consist of giving her the ball to make crosses...

Penalty needlessly given away by goalkeeper... two-nil. We are going down.

West Ham were beating Blues last time i looked as well,
At least Bristol City were losing.

Late Blose equaliser keeps us one point clear of West Ham as well as Bristol City. Still, they both occasionally score a goal, so they'll finish above us. Getting promoted, releasing our top scorer, and not replacing her was utter madness.

There's too big a disparity between the teams who have been investing in the women's side for a while, and those who are trying to catch up. They need to have a look at the league structure and divide it up accordingly, so it's a bit more competitive.  I know the men's game isn't exactly competitive, but every team can in theory give another team a decent game. The bits I've seen of most of Villa's games, it's like watching a Premier League team take on a non-league side.  It's not just Villa though, it's easy to tell the relative 'newcomers'.

Hasn't money only recently started flowing into the game outside of, at most, four or five clubs?

Maybe it will get more competitive, but I doubt you will get the teams at the bottom beating the top clubs any more regularly than it happens in, say, the Scottish (men's) Premiership, for a few years yet.

I think it would take a number of seasons to get to the stage where Villa could even think about being able to compete with the likes of Man City, even if we do manage to stay up.

It would only have taken the addition of one half-decent striker to be relatively safe from relegation, though. Considering the investment everywhere else in the team, it is baffling that they neglected such an important position.

I’m sorry to say but I cannot take it seriously due to the utter disparity between the teams and the utter awfulness of those below halfway.

The women's team need a better keeper than Weiss. She's erm, not very good.
