Smashing. Be brilliant Matty. Hopefully our Gareth Bale type signing who goes on from the Championship to be a worldbeater.

Now on to the next. Messi by the weekend would be lovely.

Ignore if you don't like Vill i an's attitude. Smile if you do. Just don't gang up.

Easier said than done.

Can't you ignore the 'ganging up'? (Which is actually just people taking issue/disagreeing with what's being said)

I think it's my use of words that gets misunderstood. And then the tone sounds like what I say on Guilbert is irrevocable. Because how I press he point on things.
It's funny really as I feel I read many who write subjective , universal thinking posts perhaps thinking they are being objective (or not) whereas my subjective ideas sometimes objective are either whole heartedly disagreed upon or rightly applauded as an insightful or a considered perceptive point that hadn't been raised

I will look to use better language to make my points , discuss and state in a style that sounds more subjective and be more restricted in shining moral compass too. So as not to be misunderstood or sound so universal.
That why I tried to use the word hunches but maybe that is wrong word?

Finally I'll leave it with Dean Smith comments which at least is something that is perhaps universal and not up for debate as we can all agree on this:

"Nobody is satisfied with finishing 17th in the league – owners, supporters, players and coaching staff. We need to improve the squad. We improved after the lockdown and Project Restart and we need to improve again because we don’t want another season of struggle.”

We all friends here. Just differing thoughts but sorry if I was abrasives or writing in illfit manners.

Up the Villa !!

Nice one. Think it is a position we needed to strengthen so good stuff.

Need a replacement LB and Striker.
That's your wishlist after last seasn - rightback, leftback & striker?

Goal keeper ,midfieder/left back and 2 players who are a striker and wing-wide forward .
So 4 signings more and 5 in total.
To me any more is too much upheaval at this time

I like 5 but perhaps be 4 signings in total

Revised:
And add that Cash may be able to be deployed as midfield or left back so then it would be a total of 3 more signings. 4 in total. Just a theory.

I make you about right with that. I'm not especially bothered about the goalkeeper to be honest but definitely a left back, big unit of a defensive midfielder, winger/striker and an out-and-out striker would be on my list. I've got a feeling we might get a couple more Matty Cash type speculative for the future type signings too.

Matty Cash says he knew instantly that Aston Villa were the team he wanted to join.
The club saw off competition from other Premier League sides to land the 23-year-old from Nottingham Forest.
And after becoming the club’s first signing of the summer, Cash couldn’t hold back his delight at penning a deal at Villa Park.
He said: “My agent rang me and said that Villa were interested, and immediately it was the place I wanted to come to. I said, ‘don’t even worry about anywhere else, I want to come here and play’.
“It’s such a big football club, from the fanbase to the stadium. Every time I played at Villa Park before it just sold itself to me.
“It’s a very proud moment for me and my family, and I can’t wait to get started. Playing for such a big club is going to be brilliant.”
Cash excelled in a number of positions during a six-year stay at Nottingham Forest, making 141 appearances and scoring 13 times.
The Championship side signed him from the FAB Academy at Bisham Abbey in 2014 at a time when he was looking to break back into the professional ranks.
And now that his career has well and truly taken off, Cash is determined to continue his upward trajectory with Villa.
“It’s been a crazy journey from the age of 17, getting released at Wycombe Wanderers to kicking on,” he said.
“I had a very good five years at Forest and I can’t thank them enough – they were very good to me.
“Signing for Villa is a huge moment, and I want to thank everyone who’s supported me through this process.
“I’m coming off a good season and I’m ready to take that into the Premier League with Villa.”

That's the first signing who's given us the 'massive club' chat and sounds like he believes it!

Ooh, now then, I like that. Even if it's club/agent penned PR fluff, that's a very good start...!
