I hope he's worth it? £14m-16m out of the budget plus wages is a lot to spend on what appears to me a non-priority position.

The whole cheese gone off brie story for cash makes sense.
What we are saying there is one right back out one right back in

In absolutely every sense - huh?

I also wonder if we see him in other positions - winger, left back, maybe even midfield?

Think that's the selling point, he can play right and left mid as well.

from what i've seen of him, he's a lot better going forward than defensively, but has bags of energy.

could see us going 3 in central defence, and playing targett and cash as wing backs.

Guilbert is a good player in my opinion, so perhaps we’ll see both he and Cash playing, with Cash playing further up the field.

Cash in the Attack.

Well Brie has left by non cash transfer and Cash has arrived.
The simple bit here is both are right backs.
Both have pace though Cash is a seemingly worthwhile upgrade to this position.

And I have a hunch that because Guilbert was a Suso signing Smith has now taken upon himself to oust him.
I think Guilbert was the first signing under Suso and maybe the business of Fred being brought then loanded back not arriving till the end of season was a early sign of the meddling by Suso.

We had Hutton , Bree and Elmo back then hardly short.
At the same time Deano was pushing for Mings.

Anyway I think Cash is decent level and ability and signing hopefully inspired.
Very hopeful he'll be brought on and add a decent attacking thrust.
And really it's just great to have a new player on board.
Exciting times.

You're better off sticking to facts and statistics.

I'd quite like as an ongoing option. Though we would need another central striker/forward.

Assuming DS and his team believe Cash, Guilbert and Elmo are all RBs, there is little/no prospect of all three being registered as part of the 25 PL squad. Especially as Konsa can also cover RB.

Either at least one of them is being considered as a RM option or is likely to move on. Many might prefer that to be Elmo given his age and the popularity of Guilbert, but give the small fee we paid and the impact he made (at times) someone might bid enough for us to consider selling Guilbert.

Hope not, but can't be ruled out.

I mean, 8 goals last season really is good no matter where he was playing (except obviously centre forward), so that is something.

My cousin who is a forest fan is gutted and thinks he's worth it.

Mind you, he also claimed to be gutted aboiut Lansbury, so there is that.

Just turned  23 last month and has plenty of energy and drive to get up and down the pitch

Certainly an offensive attacking right back. Played all games in that role last season.

Needs to develop and improve his ability in final third and aspects of defending discpline. Not finished as an article but quality player already with best years ahead of him. Cash made 76% of successful tackles. Does need to act well and develop facets of maturity on and off the pitch. 7 yellow cards some rather uneccesary. Off pitch called out by a gf for cheating on her.  Smith and coaching staff will bring him up another level at least football wise.

He had 44 shots last season and 34 were from outside the area
Of his 5 assists 2 were from crosses.

So hope he only progress and have improvement in his accuracy with his crossing as well as his decision making

Hoping he won't get too rowdy off the pitch and thinking he's made it with a prem contract.

I think we can be clever in how we tactically use him. His performances for Forest show how good a footballer he is.
Welcome and quality addition.

Up the Villa.

From a Forest forum:

Sabri should get a lot of credit for this sale as to be fair he has helped turn Cash from an average midfielder to a top class wing back

True. Start of last season we were all freaking out when Tendy and Jenks were injured and we "had no right back"...

Let's not go all MON, eh Monty? ;)

Boh, goddammit. So we're just spunking £14m on a previously 'average' in a non-priority position. This is some strategy.

We've signed a player that we didn't need. Excellent business, if I may say so.
