Doesn't look like we offloaded any deadwood to them, either (Lansbury, Jota, Nyland?)

Sounds a lot of money if that's true but I reckon it's less than that.

I'm just struggling to fathom  a player in the same position, Matt Doherty, being sold for just a couple of million more despite having proven himself as one of the best full backs in the PL.

Anyway, it's not my money. But he is our Cash, so welcome aboard Matty.

I thought we didn't start new threads until the deal is confirmed.... You seem a bit keen about Mr Cash Ads...

Interesting there are add ons . Though no mention of return clause.
No cash back for forest.

I hope he's worth it? £14m-16m out of the budget plus wages is a lot to spend on what appears to me a non-priority position.

But we all trust Percy he's one of the good ones.
And we trust ads !

Besides 148pm sky sports uk tarnsfer window reads

VILLA AGREE CASH DEAL

Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Nottingham Forest for full-back Matty Cash.

The fee is understood to £14m rising to a possible £16m with add-ons.

Villa had seen three previous bids rejected, with Forest unwilling to let him go cheaply.
Cash was keen to make the step up into the Premier League, which helped push the deal through.

He has yet to complete a Villa medical and discuss personal terms. He has been training with Forest this morning, but will undergo a medical with Villa in the next 24 hours.

Up the Villa.

True but depends what the budget is I guess. Maybe the owners have given Deano an even bigger wedge of pocket money than we'd been led to believe.

Seems very expensive for a championship player with one good season under his belt, and in one of the few positions we have good cover in already. Does have all the attributes of a good attacking fullback though. Hopefully this a signal we be spending big in the higher priority positions!

Be interesting to see if he starts ahead of Guilbert who I think will go on to be a very good player. Also interesting he came in very quickly after Bree left, maybe the owners want players out before they come in to avoid a bloated squad.
