Rob Mackenzie - Head of Recruitment
« on: August 07, 2020, 09:52:06 AM »
I would have thought this deserves it's own thread.

We’re appointing Rob MacKenzie, formerly of Leicester and Spurs to our Scouting group. He will be head of recruitment apparently

Does anyone know much about him?  Ex Leicester and Tottenham and responsiblke for the likes of Mahrez, Son etc.  Positive move?

Knowing our luck, he’ll be the one that suggested Slimani and Soldado.

I don't think there has been a better club in the Premier League for recruitment than Leicester in recent years. I know that their old defender Steve Walsh was a big part of that but he moved to the same role at Everton and wasn't so successful.

I think it was a different Steve Walsh, mate.

The focus should be mainly on the first team but encouragingly the club are taking positive steps in improving other areas, getting the successful Baggies head of academy development,Derby's under 16/18 coach, signing Louie Barry and 2 other players with European youth international credentials.
Just as after years of slumber in the 60s we made huge strides in the 70s ,it seems the same now after over a decade of stagnation.

I thought recruiting football talent was the job of our DoF?
