U18s are leading 1-0 away at the baggies, just got to half time.

The goal was from Young and it sounds like we're well on top.

Bogarde, swinkels and chrisene all in the defence.

Good to see the U18 beat Sandwell Town to make it four wins on the bounce and stay on top of the league I see Young scored again, seems to know where the net is .The winner was a own goal

I was at the U18 game yesterday and we were very good. much stronger than them.
Our first goal came from a mistake from their CB but was well finished. We went 0-2 early in the second half through an OG from a their CB again. WBA finished strongly, but we should have won about 1-6.
Swikels and Chrisene played well but I liked the look of Paul Appiah.

Playing in the EFL Trophy with our young kids doesn’t seem to be working. Would be interested in the thoughts of those who follow the age group teams more closely than me on the strategy here.

You're right there. Another drubbing on the cards and with the Ramseys, Barry and a few other 'promising' youngsters playing, I thought they would fare better.

It's not nearly Fleetwood's first team - 10 changes from their side that lost on Saturday.

I'm a bit out of the loop at the moment due to Cameron being on a short term loan at Solihull Moors until January but I'll give you my honest opinion. Plus that is all it is. My opinion. For me, only Bridge in defence, Ramsey (J) in midfield and Archer (striker) have what it takes to develop in to players of the future. Vassilev as well up to a point but he has not shown strength in any one area and can be a bit hit and miss. Barry is another exciting prospect but is very young and largely unproven with the U18s, U21s or U23s. Ramsey (A) is also good but young. Kesler is OK but has a vastly inflated opinion of his own ability. The rest are just not up to it. For the EFL Trophy it is definitely a case of our boys against the other teams men.

Thanks. Interesting stuff. I see Cameron is starting tonight for the Moors. Will follow with interest.

All too often kids have been superior in their age group and then maybe becoming complacent and their development stunted. The more experience they can get of senior football, the better for me. Perhaps it will bring them down to Earth and realise how much work they actually have to do to even have a professional career in football.

Agreed, which is why I am pleased that Cam has gone out on a short-term loan to get regular first team football. He and his family are very down to earth and realistic about things plus he has worked so hard over lockdown to keep in shape.

I guess it's tough to judge even for the experts in the game. Look at Ben Woodburn at Liverpool, hailed as the next big thing and played for Wales at 17, now on loan at Oxford Utd and has had a couple of bad foot injuries.
