8 Games rescue plan!
« on: June 21, 2020, 08:46:41 PM »
OK assuming Smith, being a true fan, decides overnights that in the best interest of his Club he is going to resign who can we get in for the rest of the season pay them a King's ransom and hope they can keep us up?
For me I say Sam Allardyce.

I mean, I don't want to be dismissive of the question, but he's quite clearly not going to leave at the moment. In the incredibly unlikley scenario that he does then I suppose Allardyce of the names mentioned. Either way, I'd say it's quite likely Smith is still our manager next season regardless of what division we're in.

There is as much chance of Mauricio Pochettino staging a hostile takeover to steer our club to safety than Dean Smith stepping down, which is to say absolutely zero.

I'm afraid he's headed straight back down to his level - Championship football - and dragging us with him.

Warnock would be a laugh. For half an hour or so.

I don't want Allardyce, ta. I know beggars can't be choosers but I don't want a manager who thinks he's doing us a favour. Go down if we must, but if that means we get in somebody who is excited about making us a successful, dynamic and tactically relevant side, so be it.

A more realistic rescue plan would be to try a change of system with two up front for starters.

None of the above but for maybe a chance to go out and win with two up front from the off and also not to be afraid to change things at half time which does not include a like for like substitution.

Precisely this. The old adage about doing the same things time and again certainly rings true. Mix it up, be brave and have a fcuking go. We may not ultimately survive but I’m sure we’d all prefer to die trying.
