My first reaction last night was that Nyland flapped at it. I’ve watched it over and over tonight from various angles and imo Nyland took the catch quite comfortably and could do absolutely nothing about Keinan being right there in front of him who knocked him over the line. No way is Nyland to blame and should keep his place for now no question.

Sometimes in football things are up for debate and opinions are varied

However the fact is Nyland was falling , stepping , retreating backwards !! And he alone was at fault.
He fumbled the ball and stumbled backwards .

If KD doesn't collide into him there is no way Nyland was going backwards into the net.

You can have your own opinions,  but you can't have your own facts... you even said he lost us the game...

It was a ball he failed to deal with and it was a goal that only wasn't given by a miraculous set of circumstances. Of course it was his fault.
He did deal with it as he caught it.  He was then knocked into his net.

He caught the ball cleanly then KD knocked into him as he came down.
If he’d have tipped it away he’d have been accused of bottling the catch!

No he didn’t
If not for the collision with KD we wouldn’t be have this debate.

Steer is the most reliable of the 3

He makes an initial move to come for the ball, then back tracks as it looks as tho it's going over his head. He catches it at the 2nd attempt between his arms & is then bumped over the line by KD.
Once he misjudged his 1st step forward his concentration confidence had gone. Full concentration & KD wouldve bounced off him as he wouldve been stronger under foot.

He flapped it.

Reina for me for his experience. Nyland did well when he came in recently but overall has always looked nervous and that spreads.

You have to bear in mind though that Reina has dropped a couple of clangers too.

Nyland struggles to reach for the ball let alone the heights , or even half the heights , of Reina career though.
There's no comparison with that.
Reina far more dependable and proven overall.
But currently neither are looking great. I sway to Reina though.
I miss Steer and Heaton and do favor them

Reina was awful and spread complete panic with his centre halves, Mings in particular.

Nyland has dropped a clanger in each game so far but has got away with it. He needs to stay in the team.

After today, I'm inclined to agree with you.  Nyland looks like making a clanger every game.  Reina isn't Mr Reliable either but I think he's now a better bet than Nyland.

I know we’re shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, but I’d absolutely put Jed Steer back in now.

If we drop, he’s likely to be our No.1 next season (I don’t think Heaton will stay) , so let’s play him.

Nyland has reverted back to the nervous wreck he looked when we first saw him in the Championship, which is a shame as there had been a marked improvement earlier on during the cup games.
