Surprised that Dean waxed lyrical about Southampton's home-form and that we'd be looking to take advantage of that. Isn't that what leads to the cliché opponents riposte post-game of "We pinned-up those quotes in the dressing room which gave us extra motivation to win" ?!
Redmond is a big miss for them, he's created as many chances for them as Jack has for us this season (though they haven't scored as many of them as we have of Jack's).

Of course players don't intend to play poorly but I can't have imagined post-match interviews in the past when a player/manager says they wanted to ram the words of the opposition down their throats etc. It's marginal gains at this level and finding new ways to motivate players is always welcomed by management. I'm not saying it will make a difference, just that it comes across as a tad naive from your cousin to talk about it the way he did.

The manager has cut out newspaper quotes and pinned them on the changing room wall (has this ever really happened?) only for his team to totally fail to ram the words of the opposition manager down his throat. They trudge off the pitch having lost 4-0 and pretty much confirmed the opposition manager pre-match hunch to be true. We don't hear about them. The kit-man silently takes down the cuttings and there is an unspoken but understood agreement among everyone in the changing room to never speak of this again... We need to see all of the available data on this. % of wins when the manager has pinned newspaper cuttings up versus % when he hasn't. Then we can talk.
