To many games like today this season. We are fast running out of games and we concede far to easily. Dean has to take some of the blame. Not enough experience on the bench or on the pitch. We are where we are because we haven’t been good enough. Win the Cup & stop up, it’s a fantastic season. I fear though we will go down.

A bullet proof manager, no matter how we play or how the results are, a squad with no decent striker, five decent players,( Jack, Mings, Super John, Heaton and Reina), two of which are poxy keepers. I’m sorry, and kudos to you, but how exactly do people think we’ll stay up?
And who, other than those I’ve named, are giving you that hope?

West Ham, Watford and Norwich, all of who are below us.

Sorry Dave but I think, and I don’t know why, West Ham will get out of it somehow.

Maybe they will. Maybe Bournemouth, or Brighton, or Palace, will get dragged back into it. At this stage nothing is certain, which is why it's so annoying to see so many of our supporters saying we're already down when we're nothing of the sort.

So do you think we will stay up?

Yes.

Excellent.

Smith is just a half soaked manager who is out of his depth in this league.

Picking Drunkwaster ahead of Nakamba shows how stupid he is.

What did nakamba do after he came on to justify that ?

More than Drunkwaster did. It's an embarrassment that he gets picked.

To be fair, Nakamba had 4 or 5 good tackles for an interception. He presses up the pitch fairly well.

Drinkwater was off the pace, hands on his hips. Don’t know what he offers but I’m not the manager.

Now I’m no big fan of Drinkwater, but Nakamba did not improve upon Drinkwaters performance in any way that I spotted.

Reina had a good game, but couldn’t he have taken 10 seconds longer with the kick or played it short or just kicked it straight out for a throw, somewhere near the halfway line? There were only 55 seconds left on the clock.

maybe  but you cant excuse the defender doing that major fuck up . Reina kept us in it .

From the interview, I find it absurd he actually wanted to press high up the pitch.

Why do that against a team like Spurs?

Standing off got us mullered against citeh. Today we were a daft mistake away from a point. It worked.

I disagree. They should've killed the game.
Some of the opportunities were more or less, one on ones, that shouldn't be happening multiple times.
It's just very amateur.

He managed to pass to a Villa player and not give away stupid free kicks , an improvement in my book.

Can't believe the whiff of resignation , yes it was was a kick in the balls and our own doing. We are still in with a chance of staying up and I will hold on to that hope while we still have a chance.

Smiths approach to the season has been shit. The openness of our game, all 90+ minutes, week in week out. Really poor stuff. Really naive stuff.

Makes baffling selections (who in their right mind picks up and then repeatedly picks a player who is clearly nowhere near fit and then gives him a relegation fight to get fit).

Game management is non existent.

‘Tactics’ seem to consist of conceding midfield most matches.

Doesn’t make glaringly obvious substitutions until far too late.

Nice bloke, but I fear the Wembley trip is going to mask what has been an inept showing from the manager since day one.

Bit harsh. Weren’t we half way down the championship on day one?

At least we scored from a corner ...

3 subs made 1 helped us the other 2 ( alot like Liverpool helped in our downfall ) Trez did literally nothing when he came on but lose the ball or make bad decisions.Baston almost gave a goal away and came to head the ball on the halfway line for the winner , so when Luiz flicked it on there was no one forward to pressure the Spurs defender .

Drinkwater , god he tried but dear god he is a nothing player and playing a 2 man CM with him as one of them is asking for trouble.

Pace we have none time and time again we got done for pace all over the park.

6 goals conceded in 2 games to Spurs , both loss's when we lead the game..its the story of the season we simply can not defend , we can't grind out results.I'll be amazed if Smith is manager this time next year regardless of league we are in he simply doesn't have it in him to drill a side to defend

In our position you need to be able to grind out draws and 1 nil wins ..we can't do it .5 goals conceded in our last 2 games

Good Summary
Individually some of the centre backs may  be OK collectively they are terrible, pause on the ball , loose momentum by going backwards .
Kill the game and take a draw.
Jack, as Captain should also be dictating that.

Some earlier comments have questioned our recruitment system but on today's evidence Samatta and Reina look excellent signings.

I think everyone would agree, but we are making it hard on ourselves

Well it’s bloody eventful I guess, didn’t deserve that though. We are much better going forward with samatta, he holds the balm up so well and gets in front of his defender. We are still in with a shout of staying up.

100%

Shame we didn’t get Samatta in the summer.
