I wouldn't be so hasty to get rid, at least not until the January window, when Wesley should be back.

Because with people calling for Davis to go out on loan (which I disagree with too), Wes injured, Samatta shipped out, that leaves us with only Watkins and the kids up front.

not necessarily - if Rashica comes in and bert signs we have players who can rotate, and one of Samatta or Davis will go, probably on loan as i don't see Samatta commanding a fee and we won't sell Davis.

Indy has joined Burton. With Ally also seemingly on the way I can see one or two players coming in up top. It would be foolish to leave a young untried striker as our main choice with KD (we tried that). So can see two experienced forwards coming in or at least one with one promising forward. Would be ace if it was someone like Tammy, but I could see Josh King and Brewster.

I actually think Samatta is one who may do well elsewhere and haunt us. Not that we shouldn't still sell him.

We left ourselves light up top last season so I'd rather get players in before moving him on.

When he first arrived he looked like an intelligent player who made good runs and I thought with time he would be pretty useful.

Lockdown must have been difficult for him, he'd only just come to the country and 3 months alone in a new place under such weird circumstances must have been tough.  After the restart he seemed willing but just not good enough.  We can't really afford to play him into form, but I would have been interested to see how he would have developed this season.  I guess it will always be what might have been for him but I agree we need to move on.

Like several players last season, he didn't perform too well. He scored a good goal in the cup final but like all the new players with Belgian connections, he struggled.

A loan out might be a good move as if he does well,  it may help to recover some more of the fee we forked out.

people are being very nasty on here using words like shit and crap to describe Samatta
he's neither of those

he's not good enough for a club with our ambitions now it's as simple as that
a move is best for everyone

I think he'll probably go out on-loan and we'll keep our options   open based on him building-up some form and our future needs.

This. Samatta doesn't deserve any ire - been a really weird season for him. Not the right player at all in January, an impossible task to carry our entire goal threat in a misfiring team while adjusting to a much better league halfway through the season and that's before dealing with lockdown in a new country.

I thought he looked great against spurs, guy clearly has talent.

Also, zero attitude off him and he's never looked like he's giving less than 100% unlike most of our unsuccessful signings.

If the Bitter want him then it's the standard Summer 2020 £20 million price tag, or fuck off.

I'm inclined to agree.  I'd hang on to him until at least January and then decide.
