It was like playing with 9 men with him and Trez.
The amount of times they lost possession was criminal.

That's been the problem all season really.

As I said in the match thread, he seemed to be playing in slow motion, seeming to really overthink everything he was doing and then telegraphing what decision he made.

That's confidence for you.

Yep, it's actually quite upsetting to watch because he's definitely a better player than this but he looks completely lost right now.

There wasn't much wrong with his header in the cup final. I suspect he may be more of a penalty box type striker, does anyone know from his time in Belgium? The tell tale sign when a strikers confidence is on the floor is when they start drifting to the wings away from danger. That's Samatta all over at the moment. Except when he moves to the wings his hold up play isn't good enough. His movement generally isn't. Just hope in terms of style we haven't landed on another Scott Hogan type player.

At least when Davis came on, he moved onto their young centre half and used his power to bully him. Simple but very effective and it helped our midfielders and even our defence as the out ball was always there. Davis has been so close to getting a number of goals but simply has to start hitting the net. Davis when fit will have his uses in the championship with likes of Hourihane playing off him.

He drives like he plays football, poorly. He came out of the Belfry up to Dunton Island and then swerved across 2 lanes cutting up me and nearly hitting a bloke in a camper van to get on the M42.

Twat.

I saw him trying to back into a space in the player's car park once. He was really struggling.

He's the second useless African Car Reverser I've seen outside Villa Park.

Apparently he's made 11 league appearances for us and managed one shot on target.

That many? I must have been having a piss when he managed that.

I presume this is shots with the foot rather than headers?

Pre lockdown, he was looking OK, still settling in, but a definite goal threat.

Now he’s like the reincarnation of Tony Cascarino.

He needs to be dropped and dont stick Davis in his place either. Id rather have AEG missing sitters upfront because at least he'll be actually there to miss them.

Don't agree, what Davis can do that Samatta can't is hold the ball up, Davis looks to me like a very good prospect that's been badly coached. I remember the first time he cam on in a game he bullied the defence, have not seen that since.

He can do that in midfield or behind a front man. I agree he does hold the ball up well but putting the ball in the net?. He's never gonna be a goal scorer imo

The Footystats and Infogol websites list Davis as a midfielder.

Well there you go. I agree. I dont think Davis is universally shit, but i can't for the life of me see how he's ever gonna forge a career by scoring goals

Defends the ball well when in possession, finds teammates, no slouch when he has to move, all qualities many of our midfielders of the last decade have lacked.
