I thought as debuts go he did OK particularly given the high profile nature of the match. With a bit more match fitness I think we may well have uncovered a good one.

My only issue with him last night was that I thought he was dropping too deep when we were out of possession, which could well have been under instruction. Would have liked to have seen him put the keeper under more pressure as the odd time we did it seemed to work

That was the tactics, to allow their center backs the ball and the time. Fill the midfield and stop them coming through the middle.

People saying he had 2 opportunities to score, obviously the one in the second half from Jacks right wing cross but cannot remember another?
First half. Pass towards near post, it was perhaps slightly behind him and it sort of got stuck under his feet.

I'd love to know what he made of it all. The atmosphere, the noise, the last minute goal, the pitch invasion. It must have been an incredible night for him.

Gave him the benefit of the doubt on the miss from Jack's peach of a pass.

Think he has temporarily unsighted by the defender just as the ball arrived.

Mate sent me a picture that is doing the rounds of him having a meal in the Kabbabish in Sutton last night

Fair play to him

I thought that too.  It's a shame as the faintest of contacts would have resulted in a goal.  Overall I thought it was a decent debut.

I think so too, I think he was surprised by the ball.

Also, I think one of their players gave him a kick just before he went off, and he looked to be moving a bit more gingerly after that. I think that coupled with his obvious disappointment at missing the sitter meant that it was the right decision of Smith to bring Davis on.

Davis also played well. I'd also love to see him be fit enough to start a few consecutive games.

I don't think the chance was a sitter. I do think it was an opportunity but not that easy.

It might be my memory playing tricks, but didn't he do really well in the build up to the first goal?  I seem to remember him battling for a long ball and getting it to Douglas, who then released Jack. Might be getting confused though.

But that's the sort of thing I want to see from our strikers; if you're not scoring, at least be a nuisance, don't let the defence relax. We have players that can take advantage of loose balls, so just force the mistakes.

I think he's going to be absolutely fine, and with Keinan back as well and looking dangerous, we all of a sudden have a proper strike force!

Thought he had a decent debut and fitted well into the team and setup, especially with the amount of time he's been here. Will get fitter and better, match by match, and looks like he will suit us just fine.

and then if they turned back or passed sideways Jack, Ally and AEG all closed as a unit and took  away all the space, which led to a few chances. I suspect it's the sort of thing Smith means when he spoke of setting traps.

From my seat it looked easier to score, but watching the footage from a different angle, he was further from the ball than i originally thought. On the whole I think he looked good.

I thought he looked ok, has a bit of pace aswell, he tired and I was glad to see Smith replace him with Davis.
