Tanzania sounds even better if you pronounce it the same way as you would Tasmania.

Please stay fit and score a few early goals.

Not sure where to post this, but as we've signed an African ill try here. One for the older heads, but I read on twitter today that in the late 60s under Tommy Doc, we signed two Zambians who only played a few times between them. I'd never heard of this before, any one have any recollections ?

Freddie Mwila and Emment Kapengwe.

Is that Lew Chatterley in the background?

I was there at that game, it was a terrible 0-0 draw in torrential rain.
Mwila and Kapengwe only played a couple of times after that, they were signed by Doc after we played a Summer tournament in the States, and they starred against us for Atlanta Chiefs.
Kapengwe was a bull of a player, Mwila had a good touch but was easily knocked off the ball.
Freddie went on to have a good coaching career in Africa, Emment sadly died in 1988 aged 45 from a stroke.

Leaves villa in 2021 because he doesn’t work hard enough and has been bombed out the squad.

We will have been liquidated by then anyway. Fortunately for us, nuclear war will have broken out and we'll all be dead.

Nah, the end of the world will come when we're 4-0 up in the 89th minute of the FA Cup final.

We'll all die really fucking deliriously happy then!

Seems a bit of a random one apart from being another from Belgium. The bloke we've got out there must be the only one that submits any scouting reports. Anyway, on the one hand he's again got no experience of the PL or English football which would have been par for the course if he was 5 years younger but he does have some experience and a half decent scoring record but i would have expected if we were going for someone more 'finished article' age it would have been someone from the PL. I suppose if he was on a shortlist of players that they think would be a good signing for us and was the only one available right now then so be it. Good luck to him anyway, it's a gamble but no reason to cast judgement on this one until he's had a good run of games.

He is Muslim, so shouldn't be tempted to go the pub with Drinkwater.

He looks mobile, quick feet and scores with both and can head it. Why at 27 he hasn't been snapped up by someone else I don't know but the main attributes are there. At the very least he'll take the pressure off us with an outlet ball to him a la Vardy. I'm not expecting miracles but if he can score 5 important goals he could keep us up. Another in and we have a chance. Can we create him enough chances is the main question.

*This is a tenuous link to anything else on the thread.

I met some Tanzanian people in the hospital waiting room a couple of months ago when my friend was in intensive care after a heart attack. Really nice folk who cooked a meal while they waited (well warmed up one they'd made earlier). I commented on how nice the smell was and they insisted I have some.

Maharage Beans, which is a national dish. I highly recommend it with some Mchusi Sauce.....

How about on toast with a light cheese topping, or with sausage and chips...?

Google translates his name from the Swahili as Mr Samatta.
