Brighton vs Aston Villa pre match thread - Jan 18th - 3pm
« on: January 15, 2020, 06:54:18 PM »
Big three games coming up. This is a very winnable game but it certainly won’t be easy. Need a massive bounce back game from everyone; manager on down to get something here. After the abomination that we saw against Man City I hope our confidence didn’t take too much of a kicking.

I reckon we might win.

2-1 AEG and CH. Maupay inevitability for them.

I dont know what to make of Brighton, Ive seen them play 5 times, they've dominated for long periods of each game playing some  excellent football but haven't won any of the games.

If we see a repeat of Elmo and Taylor as wingbacks then we will lose again. Guilbert has to start, fuck knows were Targett is but I'd be a lot happier with him as left wing back.

Can't see us not conceeding atleast 2, fuck knows what we'll do up the other end.

I'll go for 2-2.

2-1 defeat I'm afraid. Brighton play a very fluent possession based game. They were very good at Villa Park, the sending off really helped Villa. Doubt we'll have a striker in to start the game.

I will be amazed if Maupay doesn’t score. It seems written.

1-1 draw

They are organised. We haven't settled on a formation and have no strikers*. Loss.

*despite having #2 in Hogan and Kodjia.

Beaten them twice this season. Hope the lads have the belief and the balls that they can do it again. 1-2 to us.😯

Two absolute crunch 6 pointers coming up, and its inexcuseable we haven't managed to bring in at least 1 new striker for these games.

Can see us forcing a draw if Kodjia plays but can see us taking a beating again if its a similiar horror show system as against Man City, and i really wouldn't put it past Smith to use it again.

3-1 to them, Maupay to get at least 1 of them.

Cue Smith mentioning not having any 1st choice strikers in his post match comments as a thinly veiled dig at Suso.  Tis in the stars.
