Defensive set up against one of the best teams in Europe. I can't understand why folk would want us to be balls out go for it mode and probably get smashed to bits.

There is a middle ground, i.e. the more compact system with 3 CBs we've seen lately, but with more attacking personnel within it (one or both of Guilbert/Targett, plus Trez for example).

Could we all concentrate on the forthcoming thrashing, please?

I really don’t understand why he keeps occasionally starting Elmo ahead of Guilbert. Guilbert is clearly about 6 times better at football. Today’s a right off anyway.

I really worry this could be like a certain Chelsea match.

The 2-2 with our last-minute equaliser?

Forget the point, I fancy a pint. Dry January comes crashing to an end with that line up.

The only question... what snack to go with it??

I’m tempted by Salt and Vinegar Pringles. The more atomic, the better.

Anyway... we’ll be there or thereabouts.

I am genuinely worried there's a very real risk we might lose this game.

Cant see it being 4-4, but I'd take that point!

If it is a write off, isn't it good Guilbert isn't playing?

Chode. The word of the day.

I do believe there’s a film called “The Da Vinci Chode”. And no, I haven’t seen it. The film, or the chode.

Just been over took by two Dublin season ticket holders. They're fast walkers them pair. Have been for years.

You're very sensitive. I merely commented that its customary to moan like fuck after we've been shit, not before. You took it as a slight and obviously feel some sort of guilt at the multitude of Villa fans that make an effort to come from all over to watch us.

Enjoy your stream.

Await to see how we set up, but it does look, umm, conservative. And slow.

Don’t really see the logic in taking Guilbert out. Can’t do much about Targett being injured but think playing both Elmo and Taylor could turn into a back five too often.

The lack of any real out ball is going to be pretty problematic you would imagine. However, you would hope that Drinkwater and Hourihane will at least help us keep the ball better than we did on Wednesday.

Also, I don’t mind Hourihane as one of our front three given the circumstances. He may well be our biggest goal threat.

It definitely shows how desperately we need players in currently though.
