Oddly I think Benteke would be a perfect fit for us.  He reads Jack so well.  I was never a fan of back heel passes until I saw those two play together.

Utterly ludicrous.

To clarify the VAR decision photo.

Me too, imagine the lift it would give to the ground, invaluable.

If they were consistent with timings on when VAR would not be used in a buildup to a goal, then I would be more accepting of the decision. LiVARpool have had fouls allowed in buildups to their goals because of it being outside an arbitrary time frame. Earlier in the season, VAR allowed a goal by Alli where there was a blatant push by Kane in the buildup at a similar timeframe that was ignored. So why go back that far to see a mm’s decision which is arbitrary this time?

Credit where it's due - needed a big team performance and that's what we saw.

From afar I really like the kit. Up close.. not so much, the red on green makes my eyes bug out.

If they're going to use it to rule on the legality of goals, then all goals should be checked from at least the phase where the attacking team gained the ball. Even if it's a 35 yard pearler. It's ridiculous but people will be a lot less likely to be annoyed if there's consistency, as you suggest.

Wesleys best game, typically he then gets injured.

Kodjia was naff when he came on.

New formation worked well 1st half and we withstood a barrage of crosses in the 2nd.

Fucking needed that!
Wesley seemed to have more support today. He struggles on his own as most strikers do.i thought Kodjia did okay. Can they not play together? Take a bit of strain off the overworked defence.

Superb today, for all their pressing and possession second half they created pretty much fuck all and were shown up for the limited bunch of long ball merchants they are.

We were superb 1st half and but for FuckVAR 3-0 wouldn’t have flattered us. Second half we were a bit passive but our shape was superb and we severely limited their ability to get balls in the box.

All in all a good day out and our 84 year hoodoo is over.

Nothing wrong with VAR. It's the offside rule that is rubbish. VAR is just interpreting the rules.

Just a dream I know but can you remember when Christian Benteke leaped so high that he had to head it DOWN to get under the crossbar?
